Biographical Sketch of J. Rush Anthony, a merchant and trader of Anthony's Mills, although a young man, has manifested considerable talent in a business point of view. He is a son of John M. and Martha (Johnson) Anthony, mention of whom is made in the sketch of W. S. Anthony. He was born in Washington County, Mo., September 2, 1864, in which county he was reared on a farm. With the exception of a short time spent in the capacity of a clerk in a mercantile house in Steelville, Crawford Co., Mo., he has been prin- cipally engaged in farming and stock trading. In January, 1888, he purchased the mercantile business of C. E.
