Biographical Sketch of Henry L. Scott, Washington County, Missouri >From "History of Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Crawford and Gasconade Counties", Biographical Appendix, Goodspeed Publishing Company, 1888. ********************************************************************** Henry L. Scott, a merchant and trader of Rock Spring, is a native of the State of Pennsylvania and was born April 17, 1848. His parents, Thomas J. and Dorothy (Lowrey) Scott, were natives of the same State, and of their two children, Henry L. is the eldest. The latter was reared and educated in his native State, where he lived until 1867, when he moved to Washington County, Mo., and engaged in farming and trading. In 1885 he commenced selling goods, in connection with which he buys mineral and trades in stock. In December, 1874, he married Miss Emma Reynolds, a daughter of George Reynolds, a native of Ohio.
