Biographical Sketch of Charles S. Waugh, Washington County, Missouri

Charles S. Waugh, a leading citizen, and one of the prominent agricul-
turists of Washington County, was born in that county January 2, 1838.
His father, Abner Waugh, was a native of Virginia and November 24, 1837
he married Elizabeth Boas, a daughter of Jacob Boas.  They had a family
of three children, named respectively, Charles S., Mary J. and Adelia.
Charles was reared in his native county, and for a time devoted consid-
erable attention to teaching school; later he was engaged in smelting.
His whole time is now occupied in attending to the interests of his 
farm and raising stock.  He has preferred to live in single blessedness
and his mother keeps house for him.
