She was the oldest of a family of 9 children. She came with the family to Worth Co. , MO in 1874. She married S. F. Hibbs 3 Oct 1878 & they had 2 sons & 1 daughter, all in their younger years. For her health they moved to Eureka Springs, Ark, several years ago. Burial Grant City. HIBBS Waltour (sic) -died 9 Oct 1878, aged 2 months & 19 days. He was the son of T. W. & Emma Hibbs. HINES Fannie -died 4 Oct 1878, aged 5 years, the 29th of July last. She was the daughter of Samuel F. & Harriet Hines. HODGES _____? --died 22 Feb 1882, the child of widow, Hodges, who is the daughter of Thomas Burns, of Greene Twp., Worth Co. . HOGANS Robert -died 13 Feb 1880 in the Honey Grove neighborhood, aged 24 years. He was to be married the 29th of Feb to Miss Warden, the daughter of John Warden. HOLADAY Mr _____? --died 22 Apr 1881, southwest of Grant City , MO aged 72 years. HOLLAND Mrs. Sarah E. -died 27 Apr 1880, near Redding, Iowa, aged 34 years, 5 months & 28 days. She was born in Peoria Co., Ill., the oldest child of J. H. & Mary A. Kidney. Bedford, Iowa papers please take note. HOLLIDAY Rev. _____? --died (reported in the 14 Jul 1881 paper) in Ohio. He was a minister for 40 years & the father of Mrs. T. C. Tibbles. HOLLINGSWORTH male -died 7 March 1882, aged 2 years. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hollingsworth, their only child. HOLMAN Mrs. Cynthia -died 8 Feb 1875, at the home of Mrs. A. J. Sheridan in Grant City MO., aged 60 years. She was the wife of the late M. E. Holman. Her son Jasper E. Holman died 20 Feb 1875. Burial from the M. E. church. HOLMAN Jasper -died 20 Feb 1875, the son of Mrs. Cynthia Holman. HOLMAN Marcus E. -died 16 May 1874 in St. Joseph, MO. He was born in Utica, N. Y. & moved to Porter, Gallia Co., Ohio in 1847 where he resided for 20 years. He then moved to Grant City, MO in 1871 & to St. Jospph. Burial in Grant City cemetery HOPEWELL child -died 20 Feb 1877, in the east part of Worth Co., MO, the infant child of William Hopewell. HOUSER Fannie Elizabeth France -died 5 May 1891, aged 40 yrs. She was born in Wayne Co., N.Y. 16 Sept 1851, where she lived.....(continued on p. 20) PAGE 27 MARTIN James, Sr. -died 7 Sept 1879 at the home of his son, 3 miles south in Twp., Worth Co. MO, aged 60 years & 6 months. He was a late resident of Allendale. Burial in Tilton cemetery. MARTIN Jasper -died 26 Feb 1881 in Smith Twp., Worth Co., MO, aged 26 years. He died at the home of Frank Murray. MARTIN William -died 11 Feb 1875 at his home in Allen Twp., Worth Co., MO. He had lived in Allen Twp for 20 years, an old pioneer of the Grand River country. MASON Mrs. Judith -died 19 Aug 1878 near Grant City, MO, aged 3 days less of 60 years. She was born 22 Aug 1818 in Fishkill, Dutchess Co., N. Y. came with her brother, C. T. Cuer & first settled in Kidder, Caldwell Co., MO & then to Grant City. She married H. E. Mason in Jan of 1869. She died of typhoid fever. MATTHEWS child -died 18 Nov 1876 in Allen Twp., Worth Co., MO.. the child of N. Matthews. MAXFIELD Mrs. Sophia (nee Ingersoll) -died 20 Sept 1888 at the home of her son-in-law, Daniel W. Lamb, of Denver, MO, aged 88 years. Mrs. Maxfied received a pension for serviced rendered by her husband, Harvey Maxfield in the war of 1812. She married Harvey, 6 Oct 1816 in Westford, Vt.. he died in Taylor Co., Iowa (Bedford), 4 June 1873 & is buried in the old cemetery at Bedford. Sophia was born 8 June 1800 in Middletown Middesx (sic) Conn. MAY Joel -died (buried 21 Feb 1875) at the U. B. Chapel MAYLON Mrs. William -died 15 Feb 1888 at her home near Isadora, MO. (note: nee Susan E. Meeks, 3rd wife of Wm Maylan-C. Tait 2/97) MEDARIS child -died (buried 26 Mar 1881), of lung fever. The child of Martin Medaris. MERCKLING Charles -died 30 Sept 1888 at his home in Worth Co., MO.. he was born 28 Jun 1836 in N. Y. City, N. Y.. he leaves 4 sons. MICHAELS Jerd -died 11 Nov 1877 in Independence Twp., Nodaway Co., MO. MILLER infant -died 17 Jan 1875 in Smith Twp., Worth Co., MO, the child of Mr. & Mrs. George Miller. MILLER Isaac -died 26 Nov 1880 in Grant City, MO, aged 49 years. He was one of the early settlers of Worth Co., MO. MILLER John -died (reported in the 15 Dec 1881 paper), of Allen Twp., Worth Co., MO, aged about 15 years , the son of Elijah Miller. MILLER Lansing -died 6 Mar 1876, aged 4 years, the son of William & Elizabeth A. Miller. PAGE 39 TRIMBLE John -died 2 Mar 1875, 2 miles south of Grant City, MO. He was an old resident of Smith Twp. TRUMP George M. -died 10 May 1876 at the home of his father near Grant City, MO. He leaves a large family, and he died from diabities. TRUMP John -died 1 Jul 1877 in Fletchall Twp., Worth Co., MO, aged 73 years, 3 months and 4 days. URIE Margaret -died 4 Apr 1871 in Worth Co., MO, age 71 years, 8 months & 24 days. She was the daughter of Mrs. H. Fry & was a professor of religion for 55 years. She was of the Presbyterian church and United Brethren in Christ church. VANCE John R. -died 18 Apr 1880 in Middlefork Twp., aged 75 years. VANCLEVE Mrs. ____? --died 22 Jan 1892 in Stanbery, MO, aged 75 years. VOLNAGEL Albert E.-died 11 Oct 1889 at Topeka, Kan., aged 7 years, 11 months & 1 day. Little bertie, as he was called was the son of John & Rebecca Volnagel, formerly of Worth Co., MO. VOTAW Howard A. -died 4 Aug 1889 in Allen Twp., Worth Co., MO. He was born 16 Aug 1858 in Columbiana Co., Ohio. He leaves his parents, brothers & sisters. Services in the M. E. church and burial at the Kent cemetery. WALKER Warner W. -died 13 Jan 1892, aged 64, 8 miles south of Grant City, MO. He was born in Clay Co., Ind., 30 May 1827. He married Ruth Ann Thomas, 30 Sept 1849. They had 12 children & all with the wife survive him. He was a member of the Ellsworth Post, No. 12, G. A. R. he entered the US service in the war with Mexico in 1846 as a member of Co., C. 2nd Ind. Regt. In the civil war he was in Co. D., 4th MO Cav. WALTON Thomas -died 3 Dec 1878, aged 43 years, 11 months & 3 days. He was the son-in-law of Dr. Hunt. Two children died 12 years aago. WALTOUR Mrs. J. M. -died 16 Jul 1890 at her home in Grant City, MO. Burial at Grant City cemetery. WARDEN Perry -died 22 Nov 1889, aged 35 years. He married Miss Maggie Cambell, 14 Jun 1880. He leaves his wife and 1 child. Burial in Honey Grove church cemetery. WAREHIME John -died 14 Jun 1878 in Nodaway Co., MO, aged 75 years. He was born in Westmoreland Co., Penn. & moved to Ohio, Moble & Morgan counties. He came to MO in 1868. He was the stepfather of M F. & P. T. Danford of Worth Co. & B. M. Danford of Savannah, MO.
