WORTH COUNTY MISSOURI DEATH NOTICES 1904-1906 PAGE 46 VAUGHN Charles -died 2 Jan 1904, aged 25. He was formerly of Atlantic, IA area. He was accidently(sic) thrown from a wagon. VIDEL Capt. J. L. -died last week (reported in the 20 Dec 1906 paper) in Mt. Ayr, IA, aged 92. He served as a Corporal in Co. A 16th Wisc. Inf. He had 2 sons who died from wounds received in the same war. One of the sons was too young to enlist in the regular service & was accepted as a drummer boy & was killed. VORIS Mills -died 26 Oct 1906 at the home of his sister, Mrs. Huldah V. Alvin, near Sheridan, MO, aged 72. He was born in Massilon, Stark Co., OH, 25 Dec 1833. In 1850 her went to Onieida, Ill. & made his home there until the start of the civil war. He enlisted in Co. C. 42nd Ill. Inf. Vol. In the battle of Murfreesboro, he was wounded. He was reported dead & laid on the battlefield for 3 days & was taken to Libby prison & after serveral months was exchanged. After the war he returned to Onieida, Ill. & lived there until 1871. There her married & moved to Iowa & from there to Parsons, Kan. In Kan. His wife died in 1893. In 1897 he retired from business & enterd the Soldiers Home in Danville, Ill. This past summer he spent 2 months with his son in Guthrie, Okla. Burial on Oneidia, Ill, beside his wife. WALLACE Mrs. Dollie (nee McComas) -died 1 Jun 1904 in Denver, MO, aged 35. She was the daughter of Mr & Mrs. McComas, of Grant City, MO. She leaves her husband & 4 children. Burial in Kent cemetery, Denver, MO. WALLER Mrs. Alice -died 9 Oct 1905, at Kansas City, the daughter of Mrs. Col. Dye, all formerly of Worth Co., MO. WALSON Mrs. ____? --died 28 Apr 1905, of Pleasant Valley, near Athelstan. She was the mother of Algie Walson, of Tabor, IA & her family was large, mostly boys. She leaves her husband and several children. Services at the Platville church and burial there beside her son. WARD Mrs. ____? --died 6 Mar 1904 in Clearwater, Nebr. She was the mother of Charles & William Ward of Grant City, MO she had been married 60 years on the day of her death. Her husband died over a year age. Burial in Clearwater, Nebr. WARD Ralph M. -died (reported in the 29 Nov 1906 paper) at the home of his father, Norman Ward, at Fontenelle, IA, aged 22, from pneumonia. Her father is the brother of Charles & William Ward of Grant City, MO & had lived in Grant City 20 yrs. Ago. WARDEN "Grandma" -died last week (reported in the 23 Aug 1906 paper) at the home of her son, James Warden. Burial. Honey Grove. (note; she was born Elenor/Eleanor Wolgamott Jul 1820.
