Biographical Sketch of Thomas F. Henslee, Wright County, Missouri >From "History of Laclede, Camden, Dallas, Webster, Wright, Texas, Pulaski, Phelps and Dent Counties, Missouri" The Goodspeed Publishing Company, 1889. ********************************************************************** Thomas F. Henslee, retail liquor dealer, of Hartville, Mo., was born in North Carolina, May 15, 1846, and is a son of Thomas and Betsey (Melton) Henslee, who were born, reared and married in North Carolina, the latter event taking place in 1838. To them were born three child- ren, Thomas F. being the only one who grew to manhood. The mother died in 1848, and Mr. Henslee afterward married Mary Melton, by whom he became the father of one child, and is now living in Webster Co., Mo. Thomas F. Henslee was reared and educated in Webster County, and was married in 1869 to Miss Eliza J. Dameron, who was born in North Carolina in April, 1845 and by her has one child, Anna B., the wife of W. H. Gorman. Mr. Henslee has farmed nearly all his life, and owns a valuable farm of 172 acres, but since engaging in the liquor business, in 1883, has rented his farm. He owns a good residence in Hartville, and is well fixed financially. During the late war he served in the Home Guards as forage master.
