Biographical Sketch of Thomas Lane, Jr., Wright County, Missouri >From "History of Laclede, Camden, Dallas, Webster, Wright, Texas, Pulaski, Phelps and Dent Counties, Missouri" The Goodspeed Publishing Company, 1889. ********************************************************************** Dr. Thomas Lane, Jr., of Mountain Grove, Mo., son of G. C. and Cynthia (Harris) Lane, was born on the 10th of August, 1858. He attended school in Mountain Grove Academy and at Blackburn University, Carlin- ville, Macoupin County, Ill., for some time, and afterward studied medicine under Dr. I. R. Lane, an old and successful practitioner of Springfield, Missouri. He entered the Missouri Medical College at St. Louis, Mo., in 1884, from which institution he graduated in 1886. He then located in Mountain Grove, Mo., where he commenced the practice of his profession, and has met with unusual success in town and vicinity. He was married on the 29th of September, 1884, to Miss Emma Dora McCurston, who bore him two children: Otto Ray and Gertrude May. Mrs. Lane is the daughter of George W. McCurston, of Mountain Grove, Mo.
