Biographical Sketch of S. E. E. Pope, attorney at law at Hartville, is a native of Davidson Co., N. C., born October 17, 1861, and entered Trinity College in 1878, joining the Sophomore class, but left two years later on account of failing health. He came to Missouri, and afterward went to Tom Green County, Tex. In 1884 he returned to Missouri, locating at Hartville, Wright County, and there he has remained ever since. He was admitted to the bar, and became a practicing attorney at the September term of the circuit court in the year 1888. He was married August 2, 1886, to Miss Fannie Hart, and has one child, Emma Leigh. Attorney Ed. Pope as he is familiarly called by the people of Hartville, is one of the self made and rising men of whom Wright County can justly be proud. On being admitted to the bar he became a member of the firm in which he had studied, the firm becoming known as Mansfield & Pope, and he is also a member of the real estate firm of Pope & Stewart. This last named firm have the only complete set of abstract books in Wright Co. Mr. Pope is an attorney of unusual ability, and does a large business in the county. He is the son of Thomas and Mary A. (Hale) Pope. The maternal grandfather, John L.
