Be it enacted by the legislative council and house of representatives of the Mississippi territory in general assembly convened, and is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, that for good and sufficient causes, and complaints alledged by the said Jacob Earhart, of the territory aforesaid , against Elizabeth Earhart his said wife, all of which the said Elizabeth has acknowledged to be just and true; the said Jacob Earhart is hereby divorced from the bond of matrimony heretofore existing between him, and her the said Elizabeth his wife, and that the rites of matrimony celebrated between him and the said Elizabeth shall be of no further force, validity, or effect, and that hereafter the said Jacob Earhart, and Elizabeth Earhart, shall not have any right, title, claim; or pretence whatever to the property acquired by the other. Jacob Earhart and Elizabeth Earhart, shall in future be held as distinct and separate persons, altogether unconnected by any mythical union; or civil contract whatever at any time heretofore made, or entered into between them.
