Alpheus J. Leigh Jr.

March 23, 1927 - May 4, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Alpheus J. Leigh Jr., 77, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, 
May 4, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at 
Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Bart Walker officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Frankin County 
under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Leigh was born March 23, 1927, in Charleston, the son of Alpheus J. and Eva 
Juanita Ashmore Leigh Sr.

He was a member of the Baptist church and worked 39 years for International 
Paper Company.

Mr. Leigh was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Buddy Leigh.

Survivors include his wife, Joel E. Leigh of Natchez; one son, Eddie Leigh and 
wife, Sandra of Natchez; four grandchildren; one half sister, Christine Riley 
of Arkansas; three half brothers, Kenneth Leigh, Johnny Leigh and Danny Leigh, 
all of Arkansas.
