Kenneth Stanton officiating. Burial will be in the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of R.D. Mackel and Sons. Visitation is from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Mrs. Smith was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Natchez, the daughter of William Liddell Smith and Marie L. Toles Smith. She attended Brumfield High School, was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Doris Marie Harding. Survivors include her husband, Julius Calhoun Sr. of Natchez; two sons, Bishop James (Angela) Calhoun and Julius Calhoun Jr., all of Natchez; four daughters, Berta (Theodore) Yancy of Maywood, Ill., Lyndel (Jackie) Robinson of St. Louis, Mo., Patricia (Charles) Taylor of Dallas, Texas and Brenda (Clarence) Hardin of Natchez; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a cousin, Tom (Mary Lee) Toles of Natchez; a brother-in-law, James Smith of New Orleans, La.; and a number of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Theodore J. Yancy Jr., Daryl Yancy, Ephraim Calhoun, Jackie Robinson Jr., Julius Hardin and Cassius Wright.
