Shep Bethley officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home. Visitation is from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Davis was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Natchez, the son of Louis and Georgia Davis. He was a member of United Baptist Church and was retired from Stahlman Lumber Co. in 1986. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Albert Davis and Willie Davis; two sisters, Elma Tuner and Beatrice Stewart; and four grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Davis of Natchez; six sons and their wives, Johnny L. Davis, Edward L. and Rina Davis, Donald A. Davis, all of Natchez, and Robert L. Davis, Charles E. and Elma Davis, all of Los Angeles, Glen A. and Sheila Davis of New York; three daughters and their husbands, Elsie L. and Robert Jamison and Toni S. and Eddie Hunt, all of Natchez, Rosia Mary and Willie Patterson of North Carolina; three brothers and their wives, Tommy and Sarina Davis, Leorn Davis, all of Natchez and Andrew and Sally Davis of New Orleans; two sisters, Murry Davis and Sarah Davis of Natchez; 34 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Florence Matthews of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Johnny L. Davis, Edward L. Davis, Robert L. Davis, Charles E. Davis, Willie J. Patterson, Donald A. Davis and Glenn Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Stewart, Robert Jamison, Eddie Hunt Sr., Ponce Crossgo, Adrain Jones and Terry Bernard.
