Burial will be at St. Paul A.M.E. Church Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons. Visitation is from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Mr. Gooden was born June 30, 1933, in Adams County, the son of Theodore Gooden Sr. and Sarah Myles Gooden. He was educated in the Adams County Public Schools and was a laborer for the Richard Campbell family and the Natchez Public School System. Survivors include his wife, Flora Mae Johnson Gooden of Natchez; six children and their spouses, Lawrence and Elizabeth Gooden, Theodore and Odessa Gooden III, Phillip and Charlene Gooden, Angela and James Calhoun, all of Natchez, Shelia and Prince James of Phenix City, Ala. and Sarah Dunbar of Atlanta; nine grandchildren, Ephraim Calhoun, Tiondra Calhoun, Teaurea Calhoun, Philondria Gooden, Phillip Gooden Jr., Preston Gooden, Tydarrius Gooden, Charlestine Beckum and Edward Beckum, all of Natchez; four sisters, Sarah Lucas, Helen Gooden, Sophronia and her husband, Nelson Dyson and Francis Anderson, all of Natchez; one brother, John and his wife, Maria Gooden of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 15 sisters and brothers-in-law; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
