James William Powers

Sept. 12, 1917 - May 26, 2004

NATCHEZ - Masonic graveside services for James William Powers, 86, of Natchez, 
who died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at 
Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.

Mr. Powers was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Doyline, La., the son of Grover and 
Bessie Shockley Powers.

He was a thirty second degree mason and a long time member of the Natchez Moose 
Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Powers of Natchez; three sons, Jerry W. 
Powers of Baton Rouge, La., Harold L. Powers of Natchez and Allen R. Powers of 
Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Gail Brooks of Ferriday; seven grandchildren 
and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Powers of Cullen, La.

Pallbearers will be Masons.
