BENNING FOR TRAINING Eighty-four Enlisted Men and Officers Entrain Sunday Eighty-four enlisted men and four officers of Company H, 155th Infantry National Guard of Corinth left yesterday morning for Fort Benning, Georgia, for a two-week intensive training course. Officers included Capt. Ben A. Ledbetter, 1st Lieut. H.B. Hedgepeth, 1st Liet. Troy T. Clifton, and 2nd Liet. Chester C. Coln of 2nd Battalion headquarters. Enlisted men were: W.R. Stewart, J.E. Criswell, J.M. Stewart, Lebeth Huggins, W.B. Lancaster, R.T. Dalton, L.W. Green, J.B. Gurley, H.B. Marecle, J.G. Norman, J.L. Pickett, W.I. Smith, H.M. Stewart, Wesley Bradford, E.T. Butler, D.G. Clark. T.O. Hamm, Jr., M.E. Jobe, L.D. Oaks, J.B. Robertson, A.W. Rogers, G.M. Rorie, P.A. Savage, D.E. Wilbanks, J.B. Blackwell, C.L. Brawner, W.C. Bush, H.J. Doty, R.T. Elam, C.R. Gibbs, A.G. Roden, J.C. Wilburn, C.E. Young. The following officers and men left Sunday morning with the truck complement of the company. Second Lieut. Homer Criswell; enlisted men, W.M. Green, L.R. Surratt, J.T. Talley, J.R. Elliott, G.D. Sherard, B.C. Long. The group is expected to arrive in Columbus, Georgia Sunday night. An advance detail consisting of J.E. Andrews and E.N. Logue, left by train last Wednesday. The company personnel will return to Corinth on Sunday, August 14th aboard the Seminole. Major Robert L. Gray, Battalion Commander, is expected to leave the city this week for Fort Benning to participate in the training schedule setup for the Guardsmen.
