TURNER FLIES BROWN TO DETROIT CONVENTION Of interest to many people in and around Corinth is a clipping from the Detroit Free Press paper. The clipping contains a story about Col. Roscoe Turner, former resident of Corinth. Col. Turner’s picture, along with Perry Brown, an American Legion commander from Beaumont, Texas, also appeared in the paper. Commander Brown addressed the 31st State Legion Convention at Hotel Book-Cadillac in Detroit. Col. Turner flew Commander Brown to Detroit and was himself a delegate to the convention. Well known in this community, Turner was a famed speed pilot of the 30’s. He now serves as vice chairman of the Legion’s national aeronautics committee.
