Gernert are firmly convinced that home is best. They returned. Friday from a two months business trip to the West Coast. Parts of eighteen states were covered on their trip and they report a grand time. Mrs. Frank Rogers and Mrs. Buford Rogers are spending the day in Jackson, Tennessee today to do some shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Conner, Jimmie Lee Conner, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rhoten and Raph (sic?), of Sheffield, Alabama, and Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Daniel, Mrs. Guyton and Mrs. Bostick of Ripley, Mississippi, spent Sunday with Mrs. P.M. Roberts who is ill at her home on Kilpatrick Street. Mr. and Mrs. V.M. Lindsey arrived yesterday from Salem, Illinois to spend some time with Mrs. J.G. Doran. Mrs. Earl Wright is here from her home in Sulfurrias, Texas for a visit in the Taylor Sander’s home on Second Street. Mrs. J.W. Thompson has returned to her home after a visit with her son, J.D. Thompson and his family in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mrs. C.P. Ramer and Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Roebke have returned from a 5,000 mile, three week motor trip north and west. They were in Chicago for three days then went to Ripton, Wisconsin, where they stayed for a week at Green Lake. They stopped for a few days in Duluth, Minnesota and then went to Velva, North Dakota to visit relatives. The return trip was made through the Black Hills and Dead Lands of South Dakota. Mr. and Mrs. A.W. James spent the weekend with their daughter, Mrs. Tom Ledbetter and Mr. Ledbetter. They left for their home in Drew, Mississippi this morning accompanied by Mrs. Ledbetter. Miss Carolyn Winters of Memphis, Tennessee returned to her home today after a pleasant visit in Corinth. While here she visited with relatives near Biggersville. Morris Ridgely of Benoit, Mississippi is in the city today as a business visitor. Mr. Ridgely plans to return home late this afternoon. After several weeks visiting here with their relatives, Mr. and Mrs. John Young of Forrest, Mississippi returned to their home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fuqua entertained as their houseguests this weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fuqua and their children of Memphis, Tennessee. In Birmingham for the past weekend were Mrs. Carl Barnes and Miss Edna McEwen. They returned to the city last night. After a special visit with their daughter in Hamilton, Mississippi last week, Mr. and Mrs. R.N. Gardner are back at their home on north Washington Street. Bob Walker of Houston, Mississippi visited with school friends near Corinth during the past weekend. Bob’s a summer school student at Ole Miss. Mr. and Mrs. Con Farris had as their guests this weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Pfitzer of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Returning tomorrow to Pensacola, Florida will be Mrs. Alton Gray and Mrs. Paul Gray. Mrs. Paul Gray has been here visiting with her parents for several weeks.
