REV. SMOOT, FORMER PASTOR HERE DIES
The sad intelligence of the death in Charlotte, NC, on Sunday of Rev. E.R. 
Smoot, former minister of the First Methodist Church in Corinth was received 
here today by friends.
Rev. Smoot served the local church as pastor about 1921 for a period of three 
years before being transferred to another church.  He served the Methodist 
church at Ripley for several years.  He was superannuated a number of years ago 
and had been residing in Charlotte, where funeral services were held today.  
Burial was in the cemetery at Charlotte.
Survivors include his wife, a son and a daughter.
