File Compiled and Submitted by Sue (Skay) Abruscato . 1) The administration of the estate of David Dixon, deceased, Recorded Mississippi Territory, Amite County Know all men by these presents that we John Dixon, Jesse Smith and James McKnight are held and firmly bound unto Micajah Davis, Esquire, Chief Justice of the Orphans Court and his successors in office ___ the penal sum of five hundred dollars which payment will and truly be made. We bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated the 10th day of September, 1816. The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound John Dixon, administrator of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of David Dixon, deceased, do ____ cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels, rights and credits of David Dixon, deceased which have or shall come to the hands, possession or knowledge of the said John Dixon or unto the hands or possession of any other person or persons for the said John Dixon, and the same so made, ______ or cause to be _____ into the Register's office of the Orphans Court of the County of Amite at or before the expiration of six calendar months from the date of the above written obligation and the said goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased, at the time of death, which at any time after come into the hands or possession of the said John Dixon or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for the said John Dixon as well and truly administer according to law and further do make or cause to be made a just and true account of his administration within six calendar months from the date of the above obligation and the rest and residue of the said goods, chattels and credits which shall be found remaining upon the account of the said administration, the same being first examined and allowed by the Orphans Court of the County aforesaid shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons respectively as are or shall be by law entitled _____ _____ the same as it shall ____ ____ that any last will and testament was made by the said deceased and the executor or executors therein named or any other persons do exhibit the same into the said court making request to have it allowed and approved of the said John Dixon bring there into required, do ___ and deliver the said ____ of administration (aff___of such testament ____ ____ had any ____. ) to the said court then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. John Dixon Jesse Smith James McKnight (2) Mississippi Territory, Amite County Know all men by these presents that we John Dixon, Jesse Smith, and James McKnight are held and firmly bound unto Micajah Davis Esquire, chief justice of the Orphan's Court and his successors in office in the final sum of four hundred dollars - which payment will and truly be made we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally by these presents sealed with our seal, and dated the 10th day of September, 1814. The condition of this obligation is such that whereas John Dixon hath this day been appointed guardian of Prissa Dixon and Martha Dixon daughters of David Dixon [dic'd] deceased - Now if the said John Dixon shall and do faithfully act as guardian to the said Prissa Dixon and Martha Dixon and act conformable to the statute and laws of this territory in such cases made and provided them the above obligations to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. Amite County Know all men by these presents that we John Dixon, Thomas McDowell & Darling Jones are held and firmly bound with John Phillips Judge of Probate in and for said county and his successors in office is the just and full sum of one thousand dollars for which payment well and to be made, to the said Judge of Probate aforesaid and his successors in office we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 30th day of June, 1825. The condition of the above obligation is such that if the said John Dixon as guardian to Martha Dixon of Amite County shall well and truly account with the Orphan's Court of Amite County as directed by law for the management of the property and estate of the said orphan under his care and shall also deliver up the said property agreeably to the order of the said court or the directors of law and shall in all respects perform the duty of guardian to the said minor according to law then the above obligation shall cease, it shall otherwise remain in full force and virtue in law.
