He was 87 yrs., a native of Centreville, MS and a US Army veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St. on Friday Feb 4 from 5 pm to 8 pm. and with a service conducted by his family at 7:30 pm. A private graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cem. in Centreville, MS. Survived by daughter, Jeanette and Camille LaRussa; son, Richard and Beth Gayle of Atlanta; sister, Edith Neyland: and four grandchildren, Jamille and GeorgeAnn LaRussa, and Gip and Taylor Gayle. Preceded in death by his wife Helen Gayle. He attended Catholic High School (Baton Rouge La)and was a member of the football baseball and boxing teams.. An AAU SOuthern Golden Gloves champion, he fought in the Nation Golden Gloves in Chicago from 1945 to 1951. Gip played minor league baseball in the Southern Carolina & TX leagues he was also a proud player of the Baton Rouge Red Stix. Our many thanks to our loving friends at The Haven. your special care of Dad was an absolute Godsend. Bless you all!
