MRS. ISADORE SLEEPER CALLED TO HER REWARD Mrs. Isadore Sleeper, widow of G. S. Sleeper, died after a lingering illness at 6 o'clock this morning at her home, 811 North Thirteenth street. Services will be at the Second Presbyterian church at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning. Rev. J. J. Grier, assisted by Dr. C. W. Peyton of Temple, Rev. F. S. Groner of Waco officiating. The following are the pall bearers: Active-J. W. Davis, S. Y. Lee, George Slade, R. M. Ligon, J. K. Warren, H. L. Quinius. Honorary-Dr. S. E. Shelton, J. C. Smith, Horace Bruyere, Judge J. N. Lyle, R. S. Gribble, T. B. Stanford. She was married to G. S. Sleeper June 12, 1860 in her native state, Mississippi. She moved to Texas in 1876. Her husband died in February[sic], 1890. At the time of her death she was 76 years old and is survived by the following children: G. D. Sleeper, Wagoner, Okla., Lewis G. Sleeper, Fort Gibson, Okla., Mrs. Hoyt Pritchett, Carlsbad, Tex., Mrs. W. E. Ligon, Waco, Mrs. Chas. Evans, Waco, and twenty-one grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother in her native state. Mrs. Sleeper trusted Christ as her personal Saviour in her early childhood, joining the Presbyterian church in which she lived a consistant live to the day of her death. The following tribute from a friend: A mother in Israel hath fallen, a busy humble life has gone out to be with Jesus. She has wrought well for the Master, a crown of righteousness awaitheth her on the golden shores of Eternity. A blessed heritage she hath left her children, and children's children. No home was too humble, or life lowly but she gave succor and aid amid their darkest hours. +++ The following information was found in the History of the Sleeper Family of Waco and McLennan County, Texas by John Sleeper in 1930: Gardner S. Sleeper was born at Liberty, Amite County, Mississippi, January 27 [17], 1829. Married Miss Nancy Daniels/Daniel in 1850 [Oct. 4, 1852, Amite Co., Miss.]. By this marriage had 3 children: Emma Sleeper, Sarah Hoyt Sleeper, and Gideon Daniel Sleeper. Nancy Daniels/Daniel Sleeper died in Amite County, Mississippi, in 1859 [Jan. 14, 1860, Amite Co., Miss.]. Gardner S. Sleeper married the second time in Amite County, Mississippi, Miss Isadore E. Causey on June 12, 1860. By this marriage had 6 children: Nannie C. Sleeper, Theodore Sleeper (female), Isadore Graves Sleeper, Pattie Martha Sleeper, Julia Addie Sleeper, and Louis Gardner Sleeper. +++ Isadore Elizabeth Causey Sleeper was born Feb. 4, 1838 in Amite County, MS. She was the daughter of Josiah Chelson Causey and Margaret Clemens Causey. Miss Isadore Causey was baptized on August 18, 1858 by the Rev. E. Montgomery at the Bethany Presbyterian Church of Amite County, Miss. She died May 22, 1914 in Waco. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Waco.
