Jeanette Trotter Harveyh, affectopmately know as "Baby Sis", was born September 6, 1916 to the late Homer and Alma Loggins Trotter in Montgomery County, MS. She was the oldert of seven (7) children, five of whom proceded her in death. She was united in holy matrimony in 1938 to the late Roosevery Harvey. Growning up in a Christian home, Mrs. Harvey confesses faith in Jeasus Christ at an early age and joined the Shady Grove M.B. Church in Sunflower County. The family moved to Bolivar County in 1934 and at this time she united with the Wanderer's Home M. B. Church where she remained a faithful and dutiful member until God called her home. Her work for the Lord was untiring. She served her Church at Sunday School and BTU teacher, Assistant Director of Vacation Bible School, Pastor's Aide Club, Women's Auxiliary of the Missionary Society and President of the Usher Board for many years. Mrs. Harvey received her formal education in Montgomery County, MS and at the Bolivar County Consolidated Schools in Mound Bayou, MS. She had a reputation as a caring L.P.N. at the Friendship Clinic and Taborian Hospital until retirement. her other secular affiliations and service included the Bolivar County Extension Service, Eastern Star, heroines of Jerich and the Bolivar County Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. OBITUARY Loran Hawkins was born Feburary 14, 1923 in Glendora, MS to the late Lester Hawkins, Sr. and Lyda B. Loggins Hawkins. God called him to depart this life on February 13, 2005 at Magnolia Gardens, Greenville, MS. His early childhood was spent in Tallahatchie County. He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Sturdivant Chapel in Glendora, MS. His family relocated to the Mound Bayou Community in the 1930's in order to have access to a qualityformal education. During his teens, Mr. Hawkins, transferred his church membership to the Wanderer's Home Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member throughout his remaining life. In order to supplement his income, Mr. Hawkins began a long and exemplary career as a civil servant for the United State Postal Service in 1954. He became the rural letter carrier for the Mound Bayou and surrounding area. For the next 33 years, he dutifully completely a daily eighty plus mile route with the exception of one-half day during his entire career due to inclement weather (snow). He was well known and loved by his many patrons. Mr. Hawkins was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Ml Shute Hawkins, his eldest son, Ivan Loran Hawkins and his brother, Lester Hawkins, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory and carryon his legacy: three daughters, Vernita (Harr0 Wimbish of Colorado Springs, CO; Lora (Ronald) Cole of Jackson, MS; Drs. Arvis (Willie) Hawkins Lucas of Greenville, MS; four sons, Ellis (Tara) Hawkins of Lake Charles, LA; Lemuel (Lyvonne) Hawkins of Houston, TX; Micheal (Zelphia) Hawkins of Columbia, SC and Oliver (Aleena) Hawkins, J.D. of New York, NY. He also leaves a brother, Jimmy Hawkins of Chicago, IL; an uncle, William Loggins of Kilmicheal, MS and three sister-in-laws; Bertha Hawkins of Robbins, IL; Lureada S. Gardkner of Detroit, MI and Elizabeth A. Shute of Nashville, TN; a special friend Mary Dunlop of Mound Bayou, MS, as well as twenty-one grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, his church family and innumerable friend. OBITUARY Our heavenly father blessed George Ambrose, Sr. and Luberta Henderson on July 17, 1912 with a loving child named George Ambrose. He departed this life on May 2, 1992 at the Bolivar County Hospita, in Cleveland Ms. He lived an enjoyable life and was a loving and caring person. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age. And in God he married his life long devoted wife, Earnestine Porter on December 23, 1935. This union was blessed with 8 children. he joined the Wanderer's Home Church in 1936 under the directorship of Rev. Stafford and remained a faithful member under the leadership of Rev. Willie Jackson until his departure to be with God. The family whom he loved so dearlyand who loved him are three sons; Willie Morris Ambrose who preceeded him in death in 1980, George Ambrose, Jr. of Chicago, IL., Theodore Ambrose Ambrose of Mound Bayou, MS., Five daughters; Earlene Jackson of Riviera Beach, FL, Katherine Ambrose of East St. Louis, Adele Armstead of Chicago, IL; LaCola Courtee of Joiliet, IL; Elma Forest of Atlanta, GA; twenty-eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, three sons-in-law, one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, numerous cousins and a host of appreciated friend. OBITUARY Bro Sylvester Gray,a long time resident of Mound Bayou, Mississippi was born in in Vicksburg Mississippi on August 18,1904 to the late Lee and Georgianna Gray On February 15, 1925 he was united in ;Holy Matrimony with Ola C. McWilliams in Bolivar County. To this union 13 children were born. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. he joined White Cloud M.B.C. under the leadership of Rev. B.D. Sims. In 1944 he joined the Wanderer's Home M.B.C., wshere he served on the Deacon Board. He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, Sis. Ola C. Gray; 12 children, Sylvester Gray, Jr.; of St. Ann, Illinois, Earsey and Charles Gray of Chicago, Illinois, Eddie and Jesse Gray of Mound Bayou, Mississippi, Berlin Gray of Helena, Arkansas, Lorene Franklin, Beauty Mae Royston, Ola Lee Stephenson, Lee Ester Harris and Verna Turner all of Chicago, Illinois, Irene Crawford of Mound Bayou, Mississippi; 2 sisters, Corene Shields and Ceola Williams of Chicago, Illinois; 74 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 5 daughters-in-law; 6 sons-in-laws; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. PEACE God saw the road was getting rough the hills were hard to climb He gently closed those loving eyes and whispered peace be thine OBITURY Francis Bell, Jr. was born in Glendora, Mississippi, the third child of the late Francis Bell, Sr. and Julis Scurlock Bell. One sister, merria Bell Tinson, preceded him in death. On Monday, July 21, 1997, his life span came to a close and God's will was done. Francis was united in holy wedlock to Mattie Hampton. To this union, two children were born, Linda Ann and Fragepani. To cherish dear and precious memories, he leaves a daughter, Linda (Melvin) Smith of Nashville, TN; a son Fragepani (Regina) Bell of Greenville, MS; Francis, III Bell of Little Rock, AR; five sisters, Atlevia Battle of Detroit, MI, Ruthia Bell Manning of Los Angeles, CA, Allie V. (Henry) Jacox of Bloomington, MN; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; four aunts, Ruthia Smith, Rosie Strowden, Helen Holland and Mary Willie Johnson; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friend. "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men" OBITUARY Mary Daughrity was born July 20, 1916 to the late Bias Fulton and Ethel Walker Fulton, of Sunflower, Mississippi. To the union of Bias and Ethel Fulton fourteen (14) children was born. She accepted Christ at an early age at Kase Chapel AME Church in Sunflower, Mississippi under the leadership of Rev. Holmes. In 1945, she moved to Mound Bayou, Mississippi. In 1946, she united in Holy Matrimony to Clarence Daughrity, who preceded her in death. To this union one child was born. Later she joined Wanderer's HomeMissionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T. F. Hammond where she was a member until death. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 16, 1988, at 4:30 a.m. at Bolivar County Hosipital. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Gearaldine Daughrity, Mound Bayou, Mississippi, five sisters, Beatrice Scott (Will), Mound Bayou, Mississippi, Lillie Fulton, Freddie West (William), Bessie Fulton,, (Eddie) all of Chicago, Illinois. Two (2) brothers, Joe Fulton (Josephine), Chicago, Illinois. Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Five sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws, two aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend. I have fought a good fight I have finished my course, I have keep the faith OBITUARY Mr. Walter Shenault , one of nine children was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Shenault on June 13, 1916 in Cleveland, Mississippi. He confessed a hope in Christ in 1941 and joined the Seventh Star Church, pastored by the Rev. S. M. Jones. Later he moved to Mound Bayou, Mississippi and joined the Pilgrim Rest Missiontry Bapist Church pastored by the Rev. Spencer. After which he joined the Wanderer's Home Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. T. F. Hammond. There he remained until he departed this life on February 21, 1972 at 12:30 a.m. Mr. Walter Shenault leave to mourn his passing a wife, Mrs. Druscella Shenault, four daughters Miss Desia Ree Shenault, Chicago, Illinois, Misses Louise and Louisa Shenault, New York City, New York and Miss Linda Shenault, Mound Bayou, Mississippi, two sons, Lewis Edward Shenault, Greenville, Mississippi and Jessie Lee Shenault, Chicago, Illinois, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Arbrenda Shenault, Greenville, Mississippi, thirteen grandchildren, one sister, three brothers, a host of nieces, nephews other ralatives and friends. OBITUARY Booker T. Scott was born on Demberber 10, 1929 in Sunflower, MS. He is the only child born to Will and Beatice Scott. Booker confessd his sould to Christ at an early age. After being honorably discharged from the military, Booker moved to Chicago, Il and worked as a laborer for several companies. After moving back home he farmed for many years. While in Chicago, Booker T. Met Rita Campbell and they moved to Mississippi and were married. Booker was the father of 8 children. Booker was preceded in death by his dear parents, Will and Beatrice Scott, his loving wife, Rita Scott, son Oscar "Skeeter" King, and daughter Gracine McQueen. Booker is mourned by six children: Gale Scott (Wade Paul Jr.) of Mound Bayou, Ms; Jennifer Richard (Ben) of Mound Bayou, MS; Vinaris (Carmena) Scott of Clarksdale, MS; Will Scott of Mound Bayou, MS; Donald (Paula)) Williams of Waxahachie, TX; and James (Annie) Ingram of Three River, MI. Booker also leaves behind 2 aunts, Mary Hall of Indianola, MS and Freddie West of Chicago, IL and one uncle, Frank Fulton of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, Lyndell Campbell of Cheyenne, WY and 3 sisters-in-law; Beatrice Campbell andROsetta Henderson of Denver, CO and Jannie Williams of Chicago, IL; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren who loved him dearly as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and friends and one special friend and devoted friend, Fred Wilson, Jr. who also loved him dearly.
