Wright, an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the county aforesaid, certify that the within and foregoing deed was produced before me and Sealey Delashmet personally appeared and acknowledged that he on the day of its date did sign seal and deliver the same as his won proper act and deed and there upon also on this day, Mary Ann, wife of the said Sealey Delashmet personally appeared and having been by me examined touching the execution of said deed (privily) and apart from her said husband. She declared that contents and without any fear, threat or coercion of her said husband did sign, seal and deliver the same on the day of its date as her own proper cat and did for the purposes therein expursed. Given under my hand and seal this the 1st day of November A.D. 1855. N.C. Wright, Justice of the Peace This Indenture made this the first day of November A.D. 1855 between Sealey Delashmet and Mary Ann, his wife of the first part and Raleigh Hightower of the second part all of the county of Chickasaw and State of Mississippi witnesseth: That the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained and sold and do hereby grant alien and covey to the party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of land situated in the county and state aforesaid buy the Northwest quarter of section thirty four (34) in Township Fifteen (15) of Range Four (4) East of the Basis Meridian Chickasaw survey containing in all one hundred and sixty acres more or less to have and to hold the said land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the party of the 2nd part his heirs and assignees. And the party of the first part do covenant and agree with the party of the second part that they will warrante and forever defend the title thereunto free from and against the right title as claim of themselves or either of them and their heirs and of any and all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof the party of the first part have hereunto set their names and affixed their seals on the day and date first aforesaid. I have seen it transcribed with some incorrect dates. This is from the ORIGINAL! Texas where her older sister Lydia and husband Tom Wortham were living.
