Marriage Board License and Certificate Number 211 
William C. (Charles) Matthews and Elizabeth Crawford 
...... all men by these ....... that we William C. Matthews, 
Jacob Matthews are held and bound to G. M. Tucker, Governor 
of the State of Mississippi and his successors in the sum 
of Two Hundred Dollars for the payment of which we bind 
ourselves our heirs executors and administrators ..... 
and severally sealed and dated this 25th day of November 
1843. But this Bond is on the condition that a marriage 
being shortly intended to be .......... between William C. 
Matthews and Elizabeth Crawford. Now if there be 
no lawful cause to ...... of the said marriage for which a 
license has issued then this obligation is to be void else to 
be in full force witness our hands and seals the day and 
year afore said.

Authorized to celebrate marriage, Greeting, you are 
licensed to celebrate the rites of matrimony between

will return into the Probate Court of said County 
A certificate here on the solemnization there of. 
Given under my hand seal of office at 
Louisville the 25th day of November 1843.

Additional Comments:
We are trying very hard to find the final resting place of both William 
Charles Matthews... and his wife Elizabeth (Crawford) Matthews... There is no 
one in the family who knows... The REV Jacob Matthews is buried in Chapel 
Hill, Texas along with several of his son's and Daughters'
