Eddie Walls officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland Baptist Church Cemetery in Port Gibson under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson. Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Turner was born April 20, 1928, the son of Howard and Viola Turner. He attended Claiborne County Training School and Alcorn A&M College, was a veteran of the army, was employed at the Port Gibson Box and Veneer Company until it closed and was also employed in the construction of the nuclear power plant at Grand Gulf. Survivors include a sister, Evelyn "Tot" Stewart of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Isaiah "Two-Honey" Turner of St. Louis, Mo.; a nephew, Del Lewis Turner of Glenwood, Ill.; three nieces, Michelle Stewart of Palm Dale, Calif., Petra Skeeter and Alicia Roberson of St. Louis; a daughter, Doris Dorsey of Port Gibson; and a number of other relatives and friends.
