Dr. White has been an ivalid for about 7 years and has been steadily declining for several months. In the passing of Dr. White, a landmark of this city and section is removed. Born and reared on the White Plantation six miles noth-east of town- his early school years were spent in Columbus. He was graduated with honrs at 19 from Union University in Murfreesboro, TN. When the War came he enlisted in Col. Wades Calvary but owing to physical diability, was dicharged and served thorough the war in the quartermaster's department. At the close of the war- he practiced medicine a short time in Houston, MS. In 1866, he came to West Point and with his brother- William Charles White, established the T.C. and W.C. White Drug Store- a house noted during its long life for honest dealing. Dr. White was a member of the Baptist Church and in its pioneer days here, was one of its most liberal supporters. Dr. White was a invalid for a number of years and bore his afflictions with patience and fortitude. The funeral was held at the family residence Tuesday morning conducted by Rev. E. J. Caswell and Rev. L.P. Wasson. Additional Comments: Thomas was the son of Dr. Peyton Henry White and Sarah Hampton Lee. It is unknown where Thomas is buried. although Thomas' obituary notice states he was born in Mississippi- He was born in Georgia. His date of death is incorrect- as the age they had given. Thomas was born February 19, 1837 and died July 27, 1917. His death certificate states he was buried in West Point, MS- but unknown where in West Point.
