(Port Gibson, Miss.) 1824-1833: July 02, 1831 July 2, 1831 Celia - Runaway in Jail Was committed to the jail of Claiborne county, on the 30th June, 1831, as a Runaway, a negro woman, who says her name id Celia, about 4 feet 11 inches high, about 30 years of age; had on when committed a check homespun dress, and says she belongs to James Shannon, of Copiah county; that she was sold to said Shannon in February or March last, by James Herrell.
