Take Old Highway 63 South out of Lucedale, Mississippi. You 
will travel 4.1 miles and this highway will deadend into 
the Highway 63 ByPass, take a left on this bypass and go 
1.8 miles. Here will be the intersection with Basin-Refuge 
Road on your right. Take this right hand turn and go 1.5 
miles. Here you will see the Refuge Methodist Church and 
cemetery on your left. Directly across the road from the 
back fence of the Refuge church cemetery, you will see 
where there was at one time an entrance into the large 
field in front of you. You will see a small wooded area in 
the middle of this field,this is the cemetery in this 
transcription. You will need permission from the landowner 
to enter this field to visit the cemetery. The cemetery was 
in poor condition, alot of brush, thorns, dead 
limbs..etc..There is only one headstone in this cemetery , 
however, there are five concrete slabs of various sizes 
near it. We cleaned the slabs, but there was no markings or 
dates found on them to tell us anything about who might be 
buried there. Marshall Stevens and Jimmy Trussell walked 
this cemetery on the 12th of January 2009.
