Head south on Highway 613 and go 1.9 miles. Here on the left you will see Partins Road, take this left hand turn. Go .6 tenths of a mile and you will then see Corley Road on your right. Take Corley road and go .7 tenths of a mile. As the road curves a little to the left you will see a rather large field on the right. There is ample room to pull of the road and park at the gate to the field. Looking out toward the middle of the field you will see a small wooded area. This is the Dean Cemetery. Permission must be obtained prior to visiting the cemetery. There is a chain link fence surrounding the cemetery and it was walked on the 8th of January 2009 by Mr. Ray Dean and Jimmy Trussell. All the information was taken from headstone inscriptions. "I", 12th Ala. Inf. for an unknown lenght of time. He was not one to talk of his war expierences, so little is know of them. He was wounded in the left wrist by a "minnie ball" at the Battle of Antietam. He was discharged at the end of the war in Hampton Roads, Virginia, andhad to make his way home the best way he could. Oral history relates that when Frank reached home his father was burning a big pile of brush. Frank walked up and heaved his rifle onto the brush pile. He had enough of war. Frank was not a religious man but neither was he profane. His byword was "duggunit."
