ARTHUR EDWARD SR Capt. Arthur Edward Redding Sr. 55 of Gulfport died Sept 11, 1913 of malaria. He was a steamboat captain, and native of Ashtabula OH, and a former longtime resident of Livingston Parish. Capt. Redding had been the captain of the steamboat Alice. Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Gulfport MS. He was survived by his wife Adalaide Gordon Redding, four sons, James Edward Redding, Joseph Odom Redding of Livingston Parish, Arthur Edward Jr., and James Monroe Redding of Gulfport; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deloris Elizabeth Redding and her husband Walter J Gordon and Ollie Redding Guitreau and Marcellus Guitreau; three sisters, Sarah Redding Ryan, Florence Redding of New Orleans, and Deloris Redding; and a brother, James Frances. Redding III. Preceding him in death were his parents, James Frances. Redding Jr. and Elizabeth Sutton Redding; his maternal grandfather, Lord James Lloyd George Sutton of England; his paternal grandfather, James Frances.
