She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was born April 15, 1924. Emma was one of a large family, with two surviving sisters, Marguerite and Shirley, both of New Orleans. During the past three decades in Lake Jackson, TX, Emma was active in church and civic affairs. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a docent at the Lake Jackson Museum, a former garden club member and a sponsor of the AARP Senior Citizens Drivers Education Program. A memorial service honoring her memory is planned for Tuesday, October 16, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception following at First Presbyterian Church, Lake Jackson, TX. Grice of Ocean Springs. Mr. Creel was an old citizen of this place and a member of the Methodist Church and was a good Christian. W. Creel, died at her home in Handsboro last night at 8 O'clock. She was born June 20, 1853, and had been a life long resident of Handsboro. Surviving her are four sons, R. Creel, New Orleans; and Ole, Archie and Nicholas Creel, Handsboro; and four daughters, Mrs. H. Kebler, Hattiesburg, and Mrs. T. B. Bailey, Mrs. O. J. Ware and Mrs. Elisabeth Ware, Handsboro. Funeral services were held at the Handsboro Methodist Church this afternoon at 3 O'clock, Rev. Roy Wolfand, Rev. Percy Vaughn Methodist pastors officiating. Burial was in the Handsboro Cemetery. SWITZER Biloxi Paper Feb 11, 1931 Mrs. Julianne Switzer, 74 years and six months died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vernon Switzer at Fernwood, Tuesday afternoon at 3 O'clock. She was the widow of G. W. Switzer who died Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Switzer was ill at the time of her husband's death. She was born July 14 1856. The family was one of the oldest in the Fernwood Neighborhood. Surviving Mrs. Switzer are four daughters and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. Nora Cruthirds, Mrs. D. D. Cruthirds, Mrs. Ben Sumrall, and Mrs. Vernon Switzer and the sons are Fred Switzer, G. W. Switzer Jr, and H. E. Switzer. Mrs. Switzer will be laid at the side of her husband in Handsboro Cemetery. Grover Switzer Mr. Gordon A. Switzer, 70, of Gulfport, Harrison County, MS, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, in Gulfport. Mr. Switzer was a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and retired from Ingall's Shipbuilding as a sheet metal supervisor. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Switzer was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Artie (Allen) Switzer; two sisters, Isabelle Skinner and Ruby Dobson, and three brothers, Julien Switzer, Harold Switzer and Dick Switzer. Survivors include his wife, Betty Switzer, of Gulfport; one daughter, Joy Switzer, of Ocean Springs; one son, Grover Switzer and his wife, Tina, of Ocean Springs; three sisters, Lou Walker of D'Iberville, Ruth Beard of Gulfport, and Elsie Freeman of St. Martin, and two grandchildren, Leslie Switzer and Chaise Switzer of Ocean Springs.
