Mr. Diaz had been ill for several months, and a patient at Biloxi Hospital for the past two weeks. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Fisherman's Union and was formerly one of Biloxi's outstanding baseball pitchers. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Quave Diaz of d'Iberville; five daughters, Mesdames J. R. Randolph, C. F. Gollott, Jules Santa Cruz, Cecil Montgomery and J. W. Fletcher Jr.; two sons Joseph Diaz and Louis Diaz, Violet, La.; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The remains are at Bradford Funeral Home, but funeral arrangements have not yet been completed." Additional Comments: Delmas was the son of Joseph Diaz (1845-1923) and Idele Santa Cruz (1847-1915). He married Maggie Quave on 18 January 1905.
