Mrs. Copeland was a native of Benndale, George County, MS; moved to California in her early 20's to become a model. While in California, She met an actor, Robert Ellis, and they married in the late 50's. After Mr. Ellis' death in 1973, Mrs. Copeland moved her family back to the Coast. She later met Jack Copeland, and they married in December of 1983. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Ellis; her second husband, Col. He was a Master Sgt. in the U.S. Army for five years serving in Europe during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Willie G. Joshua Daniel Peterson,16, of Waveland, MS, died May 3, 2008 in Bay St. Louis, Hancock County, MS. He was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of Waveland, MS. He was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Waveland. Joshua was an excellent baseball player and was on Bay High School team. He has been all over playing in World Series games. He was the youngest of eight children and a native of Tuskegee, Alabama. Mr. Toliver joined the Army where he served from December 1942 through March 1944. He trained as a paratrooper and a tank gunner. He also talked about serving as a Buffalo Soldier in World War II. He was preceded in death by father, Waddie Toliver Sr. and his mother, Mattie M. Mr. Edward Joseph Seldon, Jr., 77, died May 11th, 2008 in Gulfport, MS; born in Biloxi, on November 3rd, 1930 to the late Edward Joseph Seldon, Sr. and Arita Marcus Seldon. Edward Jr. lived his life as a devoted Catholic. He was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Parish in Biloxi, Mississippi. As a child, Edward served as an altar boy when mass was celebrated in Latin. He attended Our Mother of Sorrows School where he played trumpet in the OMS Band. Edward Jr. was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver for over forty-five years. After the passing of his sisters, Edward moved to Gulfport and later joined St. Theresa of Lisieux Parish in Gulfport. He was an active member of the Frances Fredericks Community Center where he looked forward to going and being with his friends. He will be remembered for his love of singing and speaking French and Spanish. He loved his yearly trips to Detroit, Michigan, where he vacationed with family and friends. Edward was employed at the Daily Herald for over thirty years until he retired. During that time he also was employed at the White House Hotel. He began a second employment career with Mary Mahoney's Old French House until he retired in the 1980s. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Joseph Seldon, Sr., and his mother, Arita Marcus Seldon; sisters Mary Hill, Annette Maddox and JoAnn Collins. Boone and Ettaline Barnett Boone; and his brothers, John M. Boone and Dan Boone. Barnett was born and lived in Samantha, Ala., until the age of 17 when he entered the military and gave 22 years serving his country. He served in the Navy during the Korean War Conflict and later completed his years with the U.S. Air Force. During his military career he was a Radar Maintenance Specialist and received many medals of recognition; he excelled to the position of Master Sergeant before retiring in 1971. The first half of his life was spent in the military. Pallbearers were the U.S. Air Force Honor Guards. She was predeceased by her husbands Gary Burrow and Gene Bethel, her mother Jacqueline Aubye Bufkin, sister Mariam Cheryll Bufkin and nephew Thomas Russum. In accordance with her wishes, the body was donated to medical science, thus there will be no service. Ruben P. (Papa) Sanchez, age 56, of Long Beach, May 30, 2008 in Biloxi, MS. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 25, 1951. He served heroically in the Vietnam War with the 1st Cavalry Division and was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Air Medal and two Bronze Star Medals, all for Valor.
