Mr. Moore was born in Jackson, MS Mr. Moore enjoyed a distinguished 35 year career at the Biloxi and Gulfport Veteran's Administration, where he retired as the Chief of Corrective Therapy. Mrs. LaVergne Griffin Hatch, age 88, of Rome and Atlanta, Georgia, died on Saturday, January 19, 2008, in Atlanta. She lived in Gulfport from 2001 until 2005. Mrs. Hatch was born in Polk County, Georgia on November 28, 1919, daughter of the late Fletcher Colquitt Griffin and the late Jennie Hollis Griffin. Hill was born December 9, 1928 in Gulfport, MS. He was the only child of the late Curtis and Alma Parker Hill. Rev. Hill graduated from Gulfport High School in 1949. He was called into the ministry September 19, 1957. He was licensed at Broadmoor Baptist of Gulfport. He was ordained by Dr. Leavell at First Baptist of Gulfport. He was born on November 8, 1921 to the union of Atward D. and Brunetta E. Collins Barnes in Pineville, MS. Bidwell (Bid) joined the United States Army serving in the famous 92nd Buffalo Division and saw duty in Italy during World War II as a medical corpsman. Bruton; her parents, Walter Jhue and Lillie Dale Combs; her brothers and sisters, Joe, Lamar, and Judson Combs, Louise Peterson, Laura Grace Nester, and Rebecca Jernigan; her daughter, Shelly D. Mr. Bragg was born in Danielsville, GA Mr. Bragg retired from the Gulfport Police Department in 1982 after twenty years of service. Mr. Bragg was preceded in death by his parents, Horace H. and Ruby Bond Bragg, and a brother, Stanley Bragg. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Gulfport. Mr. Horace Patrick Gautier, 97, died January 29, 2008 at his home in Biloxi. Horace was born in Pascagoula. The Gautier family moved to Biloxi when he was a young boy. He was a 1931 graduate of Biloxi High School where he played football on Biloxi's Big Eight championship team. He also attended Louisiana Tech College on a football scholarship. While serving with the Mississippi National Guard, Horace was called to active duty during World War II. He attended Field Artillery Mechanics School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and graduated first in his class. He was assigned to the 109th Field Artillery Division Battalion where he attained the rank of Tech-Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery during the Battle of the Bulge. Horace and his partner Edgar Byrd owned and operated Gautier and Byrd Oil Wharf and boat dealership in Biloxi until their retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Mercee' Jane' Gautier, four brothers, five sisters and one great- granddaughter. Funeral service will be at The Episcopal Church of The Redeemer (DeMiller Hall). Interment will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.
