CATHERINE MORAN DIES" "Mrs. Catherine Moran, 78 years old, a native of Switzerland and a resident of North Biloxi for 75 years died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Isom Brasher, in North Biloxi yesterday afternoon at 5:20 o'clock. She was the widow of the late Joseph Moran and was well known among the older residents of the city. The funeral will be held this afternoon from the resident of her daughter, Mrs. Isom Brasher. Services will be conducted by Rev. Relman of the Lutheran church and interment will be in the Moran cemetery in North Biloxi. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Isom Brasher, and Mrs. S. E. Seymour of Biloxi, and Mrs Theresa Gabriel of New Orleans and five sons, Joseph, Fritz, Adolph, Harry and Matthew of Biloxi; and numerous grand and great grandchildren and other relatives." Additional Comments: Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 17, pg 146: Catherine was 79 years, 4 months, 7 days old when she died at the home of her daughter, Rosalie Moran Brasher from a cerebral hemorrhage. She was the daughter of Matthew and Rozin Abbley (probably originally spelled "Abli") of Switzerland. She is buried in the same tomb as her husband, Joseph.
