Biloxi Herald on 25 January 1896
"In memory of Mrs. Malinda(sic) Seymour, loving wife of Pliney Seymour, died at her
home on Back Bay, January 3, 1896, aged 44 years. She was the daughter of
Christopher Quave, deceased, who was an able sheriff of Harrison county before the
war. Mrs. Seymour was the mother of fourteen children, twelve of whom survive her.
She was loved and honored by all who knew her, and her death will be sorrowful to
all her acquaintances. Farewell, dear Mother, sweet thy rest! Weary with years and
worn with pain, Farewell! til in some happy place, We shall behold thy face again.
Tis ours to miss thee all our years, And tender memories of thee keep, Thine in the
Lord to rest, for so He giveth his beloved sleep."
