Champion died at the home of Walter Lewis four miles west of Clinton in this county on the 28th inst and was buried at the Kelly Grave Yard near Bolton next day. Mr. Champion was 77 years and was a native of Hinds County, a brother to Col. S.S. Champion from whom the battle of "Champion Hill" took its name, and an uncle of Hon. S.S. Champion who died of yellow fever at Edwards, who died on the 15 inst., the friend and companion of our citizen, Capt.W.T. Ratliff form childhood to old age.
