A.K. McClung, We were on of the hundreds who were present and in breathless silence heard Col. McClung deliver that Eulogy; and although it reads well in the Comet now, we cannot but remark that the clarion voice of McClung gave it a ring and an effect that – Newspaper cannot convey. Gov. Foote Judge Sharkey, W.A. Lake, A.Burwell, Fulton Anderson, and a number of the State of that period, were present on the occasion, and we remember, warmly congratulated and complimented the orator as he descened form the stand after the reading, Gov.Foote, (who was then the Governor of State) being the first to advance and do so.
