Woolam Fatally Injured Frank C. Woolam, 52-years-old resident of 590 High Street, died shortly after being admitted to the Jackson Infirmary. Here at about 9:15 o'clock last night from injuries recieved when a negro youth drove a truck into a switch engine he was on the back of at East Silsa and Brown Street's. Investigating Officers J.L. Sullivan and J.L. Ray said the engine was traveling north when the negro, Ross James Clark, 17, of 1910 Rondo Street, drove the truck into the engine, striking Woolam. Officers said two other negro occupants of the truck were Milton Wolfe, 631 Randall Street, and Oscar Whitehead,617 West Erie Street. Clark was first charged with reckless driving and was released on $25.00 bond, they said, but was later taken into custody, and will be charged with manslaughter. The engineer of the train gave his name as J. W. Hinson of Rankin County. Woolam was a switchman on the G.M. and O. railroad here. The accident raised the traffic fatalities in the city to five. He is survived by: His wife, a daughter, Dolly Woolam; a son, Herbert Woolam, who is serving in the Navy. Two brothers Will and Jim Woolam of Jackson. And three nephews James Woolam and Bill and George Tyson, all of this city. Funeral Arrangements are incomplete.
