‘MRS. DAVIS’ in HISTORICAL PAGEANT

Mrs. Hugh B. Gillespie of Raymond, Miss., formerly Miss Mary White of New 
Orleans, will impersonate Mrs. Jefferson Davis in an Historical pageant during 
a convention to be held in Memphis November 15 to 18.  She was nominated by 
Mrs. Dunbar Rowland, past historian of the Mississippi division, United 
Daughters of the Confederacy, and appointed by Mrs. J.E. Brown, past state 
historian.  Their choice is highly approved by Mrs. Daisy McLaurin Stevens, 
past president-general of the U.D.C., and Mrs. John H. Anderson, present 
historian-general.  Mrs. Gillespie is now serving as one of the trustees of 
the Jefferson Davis Old Soldier’ Home.
