Cockerel Know all men by these presents that be J. J. A. Brazeal & Eliza I. Brazeal his wife of the County of Monroe and State of Mississippi for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars to us from hand paid by Archibald Cockerel of the County of Itawamba and State aforesaid the receipts of which is hereby acknowledged at or before the sealing and delivery of the presents have granted bargained and sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said A. Cockerel a certain tract or parcel of land lying in said Itawamba County to wit the south west quarter of section Twenty Two in Township Eleven of Range Eight East lying in the Districts of Lands subject to sale at Pontotoc Mississippi, and containing by estimation one Hundred and sixty acres more or less. To have and to hold the above bargained land together with all and singular the hereditaments & appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the said Cockerel his heirs Executors administrators in fee simple fourm and the said Brazeal & wife doth covenant to and wish the said Cockerel his heirs & to warrant & defend the title of said Land against the claims of all and any other person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 7th day of June 1849. John J. A. Brazeal [seal] Eliza I. Brazeal [seal] The State of Mississippi} Monroe County} Before me John Bush an acting Justice of Peace in and for said County this day personally appeared before me Mr. J. J. A. Brazeal & Eliza I. Brazeal his wife whose names appear to the within Deed of Conveyance to A. Cockerel of Itawamba County who severally acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the same their act and deed on the day of the date thereof. And the said Eliza I. Brazeal wife os said J. J. A. Brazeal being examined by me separate and apart from the said husband acknowledged that she signed sealed and delivered the same as her voluntary act and did without any fear or compulsion of the said husband on the day of the date the date thereof.
