Hester This Indenture made and entered into this 1 day of January AD 1860 between William C. Thomas of the County and State of Mississippi of the first part and Willis Hester of the same State & County of the second part witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Hundred and fifty Dollars to me in hand paid by the party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath sold and delivered and by these presents doth grant sell and convey unto the party of the second part the following described tract of Land to wit: The South half of the North West Quarter of Section Nineteen Township Ten Range Eight East of the Basis meridian of the Chickasaw Cession of Lands to have and to hold the said premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first part doth agree to defend to the party of the second part his heirs and assigns the title to the above described Land or premises against the claims of the party of the first part his heirs executors & administrators and against the claims of all other person or persons whomsoever. In Testimony whereof the said party of the first part hath hereunto set his name and affixed his seal the day and year above written. Wm. C. Thomas [seal] Nancy J. Thomas [seal] The State of Mississippi} Before me J. H. King an acting Itawamba County} Justice of the Peace in and for said County this day personally appeared Wm. C. Thomas and acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the foregoing Deed on the day and date thereof as his act and Deed to answer all the uses and purposes therein mentioned and contained. Also personally appeared N. J. Thomas wife of the above named Wm. C. Thomas who acknowledged that she signed sealed and delivered the foregoing Deed as her own act and Deed and of her own free good will. Upon a private examination separately and apart from her said husband by me examined and acknowledged that she signed sealed and delivered the same without any fear threat or compulsion on the part of her said husband. Thomas Clerk of the Itawamba County} Chancery Court of said County hereby certify that the foregoing Deed duly Stamped and acknowledged was filed for Record in my office on the 28 day of April 1871 and that the same has been duly Recorded in Deed Book No. 21 on page 278.
