The Company was mustered into United States Service on May 19th, 1898, at Camp Port Hudson in Jackson, Mississippi, as Company D of the 1st Mississippi Infantry Regiment, United States Volunteers, for two years service, by Lieutenant Lockwood, United States Army. The Company was mustered out of service with the Regiment on December 20th, 1898, at Columbia, Tennessee, by Captain W.B.
