February 1 Clayton Edward O’Mary, 69 of Gautier, passed away February 1, 2008. Mr. O’Mary was born May 18,1938 in Eldridge, AL to the late Burvin C. and Lois N. O’Mary. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Barbara O’Mary. Interment at Machpelah Cemetery. February 2 Mrs. Eurnisolva Cochran Carter, 98, of Gautier died Feb. 2, 2008. Ms. Carter was born on July 22, 1916, in McClain, Miss., to the late Arthur and Rev. Mable Moffett Cochran. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Tom Fairley and Claude Carter; sisters, Alice Fredora Johnson and Alice J. Henry. Interment will be in Whispering Pines Cemetery, McClain. Amos Benjamin Henry, died Feb 2, 2008. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Carlton Henry and Tressie Crane Caulk; one son, Alan "Randy" Henry. Graveside services at Jackson County Memorial Park. Coach Leslie A. Patrick, born in Mobile, Ala., died on June 25, 1925. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Emma Patrick; wife, Anna Louise Patrick; his daughter, Laura Ellen Patrick John; one grandson, William Leslie John, and one granddaughter, Laura Ellen Swint; two brothers, Rev. Ernest Patrick and Douglas Patrick; two sisters, Emily Matthews and Mary McAdams. Jesse Viney, 80, of Pascagoula died 2-4-08. Burial: Serene Mem. Cemetery. February 3 Matilda Catherine Hagen Brimm Amonett, 98, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Feb. 3, 2008. She was born Oct. 26, 1909, in Kansas City, MO. She is preceded in death by parents; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Emil Hagen; husbands, Albert Gerald Brimm and Earl Amonett; sister, Marie Hagen; stepson, Robert Earl Amonett; and grandson, David Keith Brimm. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Sherrie Benjamin Richards Jr., 80, of Pascagoula passed away Feb. 3, 2008. Mr. Richards was born May 31, 1927, to the late Sherrie B. Sr. and Mary Richards in Pascagoula. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Caroldeen Richards; two brothers, Paul and Loren Richards. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Machpelah Cemetery. Douglas McDanal "Curley" Roberts, 68, passed away on Feb. 3, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, James Wallace "Shorty" Roberts; and his uncle, Klight Roberts. Graveside services will be Magnolia Cemetery, River Road, Vancleave. Vernda C. Sevedge, 91, passed away on February 3, 2008 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. A native of Pascagoula, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband. The late Vincent Sevedge in 1979 and two children, Georgia Griffis and Arnold Sevedge. Graveside services will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, FL. February 4 Gerald Milton Tapper, Sr., 74, of Ocean Springs, MS died February 4, 2008. Born on March 13, 1933, in Herron Bay, AL. He was a member of the Biloxi Fellowship Masonic Lodge #630. He was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Hunt Tapper; parents, Edward and Louise Tapper; stepmother, May Campo; brother, Edward Tapper; sister, Trula Tranto; and stepbrother, Joseph Campo. A celebration of Gerald's life will be held at Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. February 5 Ann'L McLeod Clark Head, 92 of Moss Point passed away February 5, 2008. Mrs. Head was born August 9, 1915 in Leakesville , Ms. to the late Peter Joseph and Marion Avera McLeod. Preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; James Jeptha Clark in 1958 and Adam W. Head in 1965; two brothers, Carl O. McLeod (Shirley), and Marvin L. McLeod (Betty); three sisters: Mary McLeod, Marjorie Daughdrill (Howard) and Ella G. Graham (Randolph); Brothers-in-law, David Huelsman, Elmon Ware and Joe Douglas. Visitation will be at the Helena Presbyterian Church. Dr. Findlay George Maier, 71, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Feb. 5, 2008. Dr. Maier was preceded in death by his father, George Maier; his mother, Hermine Gazin Endom; his step-father, Franklin Endom; his sister, Mary Ann Brown; and his brother, Donny Endom. Interment at Krebs Cemetery. February 6 James Ellis "Bubba" Bice, 48, of Moss Point, passed away Feb. 6, 2008. James was born May 24, 1959, in Birmingham, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. and Beryl "Tina" Bice, and his grandparents, Joe L. and Adda Brooks, and Thomas and Dorothy Bice. Graveside services at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula. Helen Louise Robertson Deuel, 85, of Ocean Springs died February 6, 2008. Ms. Deuel was born on March 3, 1922 to Glenn John Robertson and Dorothy Elizabeth Barwick in Poughkeepsie, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, June and ex-husband. Services will be at Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS. Mrs. Ouida (Bonnie) Jarrell, age 67, of Vancleave, MS., died Feb. 6, 2008. February 7 Mrs. Jere' Blau, age 92, of Ocean Springs, died February 7, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete J. Blau, daughter, JoAnna L. He was born May 11, 1945, in Wayne County, Ill., to the late Dewey M. and Mary E. (Fansler) Bass. A private family committal service at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Eleanor Florence Cassata Stewart, 84, passed away February 8, 2008. Mrs. Stewart was born February 12, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY. Mrs. Stewart worked for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Preceded in death by her second husband, Lonnie Stewart, Sr.; her first husband, Elroy Sawyer; her parents; Salvadore Cassata and Salvatrice Gullota Cassata; two brothers, Vincent Cassata and Alfred Cassata; two sisters, Dorothy Cassata DeMaio and Angelina Cassata Epstein; a grandson Robert Aaron Herring Sawyer. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 800 Porter Avenue, Ocean Springs. February 9 Mrs. Frankie Miller Harvey, 70, of Escatawpa, formerly of Sumrall, Miss., died Feb. 9, 2008. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mae Bertis and Rev. W. T. Miller. Burial was held at Hickory Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Frances Ramsay Shoemaker, 89, of the Ramsay Community, died Feb. 9, 2008. Mrs. Shoemaker was born in Lucedale, George County, MS and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. Mrs. Shoemaker was preceded in death by her husband, A. P. Shoemaker Jr., and sister, Clio Ramsay Bains. Interment will follow in the Ramsay Family Cemetery. February 10 Wauneta Deloris Hysell, 91 of Pascagoula, passed away February 10, 2008 in Destin, FL. Mrs. Hysell was born April 16, 1916 in Iowa to the late Clarence and Pearl Hines. She met and married William L. Hysell and together they moved to Pascagoula in 1941. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband in 1980, William Lafayette Hysell ; a sister, Wandeline Stouts and a brother, Haven Hines. Interment will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Cynthia Jean Simpson, age 50, of Gautier, passed away Feb. 10, 2008. She was born Jan. 13, 1957, in Lubbock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; William R. and Ruth E. Chesnutt. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel. Donald A. Mrs. Louise Martinez, age 77, of Ocean Springs, died February 11, 2008. Mrs. Martinez was a native of Greenville, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Parr and Josephine McGraw Parr, three sisters, Kay Haley, Ann Slater, and Myrtle Ann Travis, and a brother, Miller Parr. A Memorial Service at the Funeral Home. Mr. David L. Sanders, age 75, of Pascagoula, passed away Feb. 11, 2008. He was born May 11, 1932, in Attala County, Miss. He retired from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie Dell Sanders; father, Johnny L. Sanders; six brothers, Billy, Louie, Donald, James (Stubby), Barney and George Sanders; a sister, Shirley Sanders and two infants. Members of the Pascagoula Masonic Lodge will conclude the service at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at Doty Springs Baptist Church in Kosciusko, Miss. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. February 12 Prentiss Nelson, 94, died Feb. 12, 2008. He was born July 28, 1913, to the late Edward and Amelia Nelson in Escatawpa, Miss. He was the oldest living member of Escatawpa Baptist Church. He was a 1934 graduate of Moss Point High School. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Dethloff Nelson, after 67 years of marriage. He was also preceded by his brothers, Donnie, Robert, Raymond, Eugene, Marvin, and George Nelson; sisters, Hilda Schaffer and Vivian Canady; sons-in-laws, Kent Gordon, Arnold Pierce, and Billy Guillot. Interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point, Miss. Shirley Cowles Powell, age 70, of Pascagoula died on Feb. 12, 2008. Born December 20, 1937 in Pascagoula. She was a Graduate of 1956 from Moss Point High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Doris Cowles; son, William Harrison Shelton; father of her children, Blackie Shelton. February 13 Januarius Bellman, 70, of Ocean Springs, died February 13, 2008. Mr. H.F. "Dubie" Dubuisson, age 85, of Ocean Springs, died February 13, 2008. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Jakins Dubuisson, daughter, Frances Guidry, two brothers, Irvin and Eugis Dubuisson, and a sister, Ethel Erdos. Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. Mr. William W. "Bill" Ray, age 86, of Ocean Springs, died February 13, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Georgia Ray and two brothers, George Ray and Otto Ray. Burial will be in Hinze Baptist Church Cemetery, Hinze, MS. Mrs. Mary Eva Schaefer, age 77, of Escatawpa, passed away Feb. 13, 2008. She was born June 1, 1930, in Webster County, Miss. Mrs. Schaefer was preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Avie Sisk. Interment will be at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa. James E. "John" Warren died Feb. 13, 2008, at the age of 63. He was born March 23, 1944, in Pulaski, MS. Mr. Warren is reunited with his loving mother, Lucy Amanda Warren; and his grandparents, Tillman and Pearl Warren. Graveside services will be at the Warren Family Cemetery of Pulaski. February 14 Margaret Patricia Allen, age 85, of Ocean Springs passed away February 14, 2008. No services will be held. Mr. Paul Joseph Moore Sr., age 85 of Moss Point, passed away February 14, 2008. He was born February 16, 1923 in Itta Bena, MS. Mr. Moore was a member and deacon of the Escatawpa Baptist Church for 47 years. He retired from Moss Point Auxiliary Police after serving 20 years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Jake and Ethel Moore; 2 brothers W. M. (Bill) Moore, Walter Campbell Moore; 4 sisters Martha Sue King, Evelyn Jones, Inez Crow, and Joe Ann Price. Interment will be at Serene Memorial Gardens. Helen Grace Henry Rushin died February 14, 2008, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born October 27, 1909. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. February 15 Mrs. Mamie L. Lee, 86, of Gulfport, died February 15, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee; her parents; two sisters, Rose Martin, Marie Harper; and one brother, Ernest Harper. Interment: Monroe Memorial Park. John Herbert Walley was born Dec. 19, 1940, in Leakesville, Miss. He was born to the late Lev and Jennie Walley. He departed this life Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. At an early age he moved to Moss Point, Miss., where he graduated from Magnolia High School in 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eloise Walley and Hattie Denson; brothers, Roy and George; and stepmother, Mittie Walley. Arrangements are by Frazier Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas. February 16 Joyce R. Anderson of Pascagoula, was born on Dec. 20, 1924. Mrs. Anderson passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, in Pascagoula at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her husband, C. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his first wife, Inez Fagan Jasper; second wife, Joyce Heathcoe Jasper; twin sons and daughter Judy Holmes by Inez Jasper; two brothers, Q. L. Jasper and C. E. Jasper; two sisters, Voncille Lewis and Carolyn Webb; one grandson, Ronnie Holmes; and a great-grandson Jeremy Blake Ball. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Donald P. Hyde, 71, of Moss Point, was born Oct. 16, 1936, to the late Charlie and Viola Hyde. Died Feb. 18, 2008. Mr. Lorenzo James Nettles, 29, of Moss Point, passed away Feb. 16, 2008. He was born May 8, 1978, in Pascagoula. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert James Nettles; grandmother, Ms. Lucy Chaney; and two brothers, Keswic and Christopher Thompson. Interment will be in Ford Cemetery, Escatawpa. February 17 Robert Alan Bruce, age 47 of Diamondhead, died February 17, 2008. Interment will follow at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. Clarence Henshaw died Feb. 17, 2008. He was born April 10, 1922, in Fontainebleau, Miss. He was a World War II veteran. He served in places like Germany, England and France. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Frazier Henshaw; his parents, Henry Andrew and Cleo Williams Henshaw; his sister, Norweds Johnson; his brothers, James, Sam and Elward Henshaw; his niece, Rose Mary Spears; his brothers-in-law, Joseph D. Mrs. Sykes was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late John and Ruth Hancock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lorace Walton Sykes Sr.; one brother and three sisters. Helen Trebotich, age 86, of Ocean Springs passed away February 20, 2008 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Trebotich was a native of Patterson, N.J. and longtime resident of Biloxi. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Iachino and grandson, Steven Iachino. Interment to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. February 21 John Wiley Payton, born Jan. 4, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Octavia Payton; six brothers, Willie Lee Payton, Namon Payton, Grant Payton Jr., S.W. Payton, Herman Payton and Vaurice Payton; six sisters, Nancy Redmond, Octavia Payton, Celest Ramsey, Georgia Fairley, Victoria Payton and Parsheen Fairley. Services will be Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 9313 Jim Ramsey Road, Vancleave, Miss. Sarah Alice McDanal Roberts, 95, died Feb. 21, 2008. Mrs. Roberts was born on Oct. 17, 1912, in Leeds, Ala., to John Rufus and Sarah Catherine Dorrough McDanal. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Roberts; two sons, Robert Absalom Davenport and Douglas McDanal "Curley" Roberts; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; her parents; nine brothers and seven sisters. Mrs. Roberts left a large legacy; surviving daughters, 29 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great grandchildren; and one sister who will miss her greatly. Graveside services will be at Magnolia Cemetery, River Road, Vancleave. February 22 Mrs. Patricia Ann Rocco, 65, of Ocean Springs, died 2-22-08. Mrs. Anna Mae Langlinais Thibodeaux, age 94, of Ocean Springs passed away February 22, 2008. Mrs. Thibodeaux was born in Youngsville, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin J. Thibodeaux; her parents, Obey and Isabella Langlinais; a brother, Joseph Vilce Langlinais and a sister, Mable Sanders. Burial to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. February 23 Baby Aurielle Justice Alahna Croon was born Jan. 12, 2008, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008. Aurielle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eddie Coleman and Francis Lee Williams. Brandi Thorp Tharmet, 35, of Vancleave, died Feb. 24, 2008. February 24 Elsie Irene (Havens) Fletcher, 94, a lifelong resident of Vancleave, passed away Feb. 24, 2008. She was born Oct. 3, 1913, to the late W.R. and Dora Havens. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew Roscoe Fletcher. Interment will be at Red Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Vancleave. Mr. David E. LaFrance, age 61, of Ocean Springs, passed away , February 24, 2008. David was born in Bay St. Louis, MS. Mrs. Dora Avolyn Murphy, of Pascagoula passed away Feb. 24, 2008. Mrs. Murphy was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Mantachie, Miss., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Bailey.
