James D. "Jimmy" Tanner, Jr., 62, died April 1, 2008, in Ocean Springs. Burial:

Ms. Judy Triplett, 42, of Moss Point, b. May 12, 1965, died April 1, 2008, in
Mobile, AL. Preceded in death by her mother, Edna Mae Triplett; sister, Mary Ann
Triplett; brother, Henry Earl Triplett; grandparents, Floyd and Willie Hathorn;
paternal grandparents, Jack Triplett and Mae Helen Reynolds. Interment: Scranton
Cemetery.

Mollie Mae Gottschalck Barron, age 87, of Pascagoula, died April 2, 2008. Born
December 1, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Mobile, AL, then moved to
Pascagoula after marrying Tennyson Harris Barron. As a young girl, Mrs. Barron
played the role of "Darla" in the "Little Rascals" movies before losing her
hearing at the age of eight years old. Mrs. Barron was preceded in death by her
parents, Fred and Ethel Gottschalck; her loving husband of 55 years, T. H.
Barron; two daughters, Patricia Ann Barron and Ethelyn Mae Barron Hays.
Interment: Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile, AL.

Mrs. Doris Little Hall, died April 2, 2008; born in Carroll County, GA, October
7, 1929. Mrs. Hall was a 1947 graduate of Pascagoula High School. Mrs. Hall was
preceded in death by her parents William Ernest and Cora Mae Little and her
great-grandson Matthew Douglas Hall. Memorial Service will also be held at
Martin-Hightower Heritage Chapel, Carrolton, GA.

Mrs. Laura Davis Scarborough, age 83, of Hattiesburg, died April 3, 2008. She
was preceded in death by her husband, L.N. Scarborough, her parents, Fred and
Tesola Fountain Davis, two sisters, Lessie Hinkle and Bessie Davis, and two
brothers, Jessie J. Davis and Wilson Davis. Burial: Seymour Cemetery, Ocean
Springs.

James Troy Stanford, 82, of Hattiesburg,(formerly of Gautier) died April 3,
2008. He was preceded in death by his wives, Joyce Stanford and Lavada B.
Stanford. Graveside service: Floral Hills Cemetery.

George Lewis Bond Jr., 67, of Moss Point, died April 4, 2008. Born July 13,

Alice A. (Jones) Fulton, 96, of Ferriday, La., died April 4, 2008, in Ferriday.
Born Sept. 11, 1911, in Escatawpa. She is the daughter of Wesley and Winnie J.
Ferrill Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie E. Fulton.
Graveside services: Serene Memorial Gardens Cemetery. 

James E. Wilson Sr., 81, of Pascagoula, died April 4, 2008, born June 30, 1926,
in Wesson, MS, the only child of the late James C. and Willie Mae Wilson. 

Doris Pierce Vice, 88, of Helena, died Friday, April 4, 2008. Born in Franklin
Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Vice; four children, Ann
Vice, Dorothy "Doodle" Vice, Arlene Vice, and Morris Vice; her parents, Plummer
and Annie Pierce; and six brothers and sisters, Banner Graham, Lydie Taylor,
Myrtle LaForce, Amery Purcer, Claude Pierce, and Dub Pierce. Interment:
Evergreen Cemetery, Helena.

Tina Marie Beaugez, age 48, of Ocean Springs, MS. died Saturday, April 5, 2008,
in Ocean Springs. Tina was born on August 2, 1959. She was preceded in death by
her father, Robert E. "Chubby" Beaugez, Sr. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery.

Ethan Jennings Berry, 16, of Agricola, George County, MS, died April 5, 2008, in
Mobile, Ala. He was born on March 25, 1992, in Ocean Springs, Miss. Burial: Goff
Family Cemetery, Big Point, Miss. 

Winton "Jack" Caffey, 86, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at his home in Petal,
Miss. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was preceded in
death by a sister and nine brothers. Graveside services: Jackson County Memorial
Gardens, Pascagoula. 

Mr. Kessie Steward, 86, of Moss Point, died April 5, 2008, born Sept. 18, 1923,
in Grove Hill, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Feannie Steward;
parents, Arnell and Alberta Steward; son, Terrance Steward; grandson, Prince
Woods; and two sisters, Ollie May Thompson and Minnie May Henderson. Interment:
Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula. 

Apr. 6
Major General William E. Bryan Jr., USAF Retired, died Sunday, April 6, 2008. He
entered the Army Air Corps in March 1942 at the age of 21 from his hometown of
Flint, Mich. Dad flew 114 combat missions in WWII in the P-51 Mustang Fighter
from 1943 to 1945. Stationed in England with the 339th Fighter Group, he
achieved status of "Ace," reserved only for VSH fighter pilots. A career
military man, in August of 1950, dad again flew the P-51 Mustang on 121 combat
missions with the 18th Fighter Bomber Wing during the Korean War. In 1967, while
commanding the 831st Air Division, he had occasion to fly a mission from
Thailand to North Vietnam. Thus he would declare that he flew fighters in three
wars. He was later promoted to Brigadier General and served 18 months in
Vietnam. As a highly decorated command pilot with greater than 5,000 hours of
flight time, he finished his career as a Major General with 33 years of service
to his country at which time he retired to Ocean Springs, Miss. His
accommodations include the Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Service
Medal, Legion of Merit, The Distinguished Flying Cross with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters,
Bronze Star Medal, the Croix de Guerre, and the Air Medal with 23 Oak Leaf
Clusters. General Bryan will be sent to Arlington, Va., for interment in
Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. 

Marcia Allen Butts, 62, of Gautier, Miss., passed away at her home Sunday, April
6, 2008. Mrs. Butts was born Dec. 12, 1945, in Laurel, Miss., to Martin and Resa
Spence. She was preceded in death by her mother, Resa Spence. Interment: Jackson
County Memorial Park. 

Lawrence Joseph (Sonny) Gager Jr., passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008, in St.
Augustine, Fla. Sonny was born to Lawrence (Buddy) and Vermiel Gager in
Pascagoula Miss., where he lived until he joined the Navy. Sonny was a graduate
of Our Lady of Victory High School in1956. A Memorial Mass at San Sebastian
Catholic Church, St. Augustine, FL.

Opal Eva Black Maddux, 85, of Gautier, MS. passed away at her home Monday, April
7, 2008. Opal was born on Jan. 4, 1923, in Oklahoma to the late Charles and 
Bessie Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four
husbands, Vernon Mack, Willard Maddux, Robert Faucette and Herman Hilburn; a
son, George Maddux; a stepson, Willard C. Maddux Jr.; a brother, Melvin Black; a
sister, Hazel Simpson and a great-grandson, Christopher Stewart. A memorial
service: Graceland Baptist Church, Gautier. A visitation in Porter, Texas at
Rosewood Funeral Home. Funeral service: Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment:
Rosewood Cemetery, Porter, Texas. 

Dustin Earl Payton, born July 22, 1986, to Willie and Phoebe Payton. He attended
New Light Baptist Church in Vancleave. Dustin Payton passed away Monday, April
7, 2008, in Vancleave, MS, at the age of 21. Dustin was preceded in death by his
grandfathers, Obra Reddix Sr. of Vancleave and John Payton Sr. of Mobile, AL;
and his uncle, Arthur "Peanut" Reddix Sr., also of Vancleave. Burial: New Light
Cemetery, Vancleave. 

Mr. Carroll Lamar Robertson, 57, of Gautier, Miss. died April 7, 2008. 

Ms. Carolyn Darlene Triplett of Moss Point, was born Jan. 14, 1965. Died Monday,
April 7, 2008. Viewing: Union Baptist Church, 1509 Dupont Ave., Pascagoula.

Charlsie Ann Coleman, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away unexpectedly after a
brief illness in Sarasota, FL on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.  Ms. Coleman was
preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward Coleman and Sadie Rae Coleman.
Burial: Crestlawn Cemetery, Ocean Springs.

Mrs. Virginia Mitchell Lancaster, 73, of Gautier, Miss., passed away Tuesday,
April 8, 2008, at her home. She was born Aug. 31, 1934, in Lowndes County, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby Mitchell; husband,
Harold Lancaster; two sons, Johnathan Blair and Alan Lancaster; two brothers,
Andrew and Rufus Mitchell; and one sister, Julia Rogers. Funeral services will
follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Beatrice Springle officiating.
Graveside services: Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS. 

Mayo Fairfax Gautier Barlow "Mayfax," 76, of Gautier, MS, passed away Tuesday,
April 8, 2008. Born in Gautier. Mayfax was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Newton Gautier and was a great-granddaughter of Fernando Gautier, whose home is
now known as "The Old Place." Mayfax was also preceded in death by her sister,
Mrs. Eleanor (James) McGrath. Graveside service: Gautier Cemetery, Gautier.

Hilma Mae McArthur Cowart, 74, of Moss Point, Miss., passed away Wednesday,
April 9, 2008, in Gautier, Miss. Mrs. Cowart was born Oct. 10, 1933, in
Cleveland, Miss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Ray and
Mable McLillis McArthur; two sisters, Jerry Young and Hazel Branning; and three
brothers, Billy McArthur, Carpenter Mc-Arthur and Ray McArthur Jr. Interment:
Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa. 

Earl Winston Sanders, 53, of Grand Bay, Ala., passed away Wednesday, April 9,
2008, in Pascagoula, Miss. Visitation: Community of Christ, Escatawpa, Miss. 

Greg Alton Vice, age 49, of Helena, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in Jackson.
Greg was a lifelong resident of the Helena community. He was preceded in death
by his father, Louis A. Vice; his grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and
cousins. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Helena.  

Helen Sturgis Wood, 77, of Escatawpa, Miss., died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in
Mobile, Ala. Mrs. Wood was born in Crystal Springs, Miss., on May 21, 1930. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lee Wood; her son, Jeffrey Mark Wood;
her parents, Charlie and Ruby Sturgis; and her brothers, Ray Sturgis, Jesse
Sturgis, Bennie Sturgis and Wilbur Sturgis. Interment: Robinson Cemetery,
Escatawpa.

Guy Conner Barrett, 87, a retired rural letter carrier with the U.S. Postal
Service, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Westminster Village, an
assisted-living and skilled-care facility in Spanish Fort, Ala. Visitation:
Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, Miss. Funeral services: First Baptist Church
in Kosciusko with burial in Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. Mr. Barrett was born
July 8, 1920, in McCool, Miss. A former resident of Kosciusko, he was a
long-standing member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a
Sunday school teacher, for many years. His Sunday school lectures were often
broadcast live on WKOZ Radio. In later years, he was a member of First Baptist
Church in Pascagoula. Mr. Barrett also was a World War II veteran, having served
as a radio technician with the U.S. Army's 587th Signal Depot Company in Toul,
France. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raphord "Rafe" Bell Barrett and
Cora Conner Barrett; brother, Raphord Lee Barrett; sister, Lucile Barrett, and a
grandson, Harris Guy Barrett II. 

Carolyn Barton Murphy Mayo, of Pascagoula, died April 10, 2008, born on Feb. 22,
1936, in Covington County, Ala., to Jessie Colon and Mavis D. Barton. She was
preceded in death by her mother and father; her first husband, Marcus Anderson
Murphy II; and her brother, Franklin Delano Barton. Carolyn was a loving,
supportive wife and mother who lived most of her life in Pascagoula. After
taking care of her first husband for many months during his own fight with
cancer, she was widowed in 1986. Funeral arrangements by Radney Funeral Home,
3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL.

Wallingford Cruise Switzer, age 91, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, April
10, 2008, at his home in Ocean Springs, where he had resided since 1959. Mr.
Switzer was born on June 23, 1916, in Handsboro, MS. He spent thirteen years in
the United States Navy and twelve years in the United States Air Force. Mr.
Switzer was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Switzer, son, Claude Switzer,
parents, Joseph Switzer and Helen Hill Switzer, and two brothers, Hersel Switzer
and Stova Switzer. Burial: Biloxi National Cemetery.

Sarah M. Daugherty, 84, died on Friday, April 11, 2008; born in Atmore, Ala., on
Sept. 2, 1923, to Tom and Clarissa Harris, but was a resident of Pascagoula. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Glenn Daugherty Sr.; her parents,
Tom Harris and Clarissa Pitts; and her sister, Ruby Sprague. Funeral services:
Radney Funeral Home. Interment: Pine Crest Cemetery. Mrs. Daugherty's grandsons,
Rev. Ricky Daugherty of Sandy Hook, Miss., and Rev. James Daugherty of Greer,
S.C., will be conducting the funeral service, other grandsons will serve as
pallbearers. 

CPO Andrew M. Hatten, 71, USN Retired, of Brandon, Miss., died Friday, April 11,
2008, at Rankin Medical Center. Mr. Hatten, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., was a
retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Aviation Electricians Mate. Visitation:
Hulett-Winstead Funeral, 205 Bay St., Hattiesburg, Miss. 

Ms. Sonya Fuller Croon "Ne-Nee", 35, of Moss Point, Miss. was born May 18, 1972.
Died Friday, April 11, 2008, at Singing River Hospital, Pascagoula, Miss.
Interment: Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula.

Prentiss F. Ward Jr., 81 of Helena, Miss., died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at his
home. He was born June 13, 1926, in Neshoba, County, MS. Mr. Ward was preceded
in death by his parents, Prentiss F. and Minnie Lee Ward Sr.; his wife, Audrey
Ward; one daughter, Brenda Rutland; four great-grandchildren, Brittney, Hailey
and Hunter Perry and Bailey Nichole Watkins. Burial: Serene Memorial.

Judith Kay "Judy" Baldock, 69, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away April 12, 2008,
in Pascagoula. She was born Jan. 12, 1939, in McCordville, Ind. She was preceded
in death by her parents, Earl and Daisy Wilson Snider; her son, Christopher
Baldock; sisters, Beaulah Wood and Carolyn Monroe; and a grandson, Alex McCann.
Interment: Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula. 

Bonnie Louise Bowman, of Lucedale, Miss., formerly of Pascagoula, died on
Saturday, April 12, 2008. She was born in Manchester Tenn., to the late James W.
and Mabel Crown-over. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years,
William H. (Bill) Bowman; one daughter, JoAnn Johnson; grandsons, Mikel Venable
and Shane Venable; granddaughters, Dolores Bailey and Linda Hayes; and a
son-in-law, Bill Brushaber. Burial: Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa.

William Glen Dean Jr., 61, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Pascagoula, Miss. 
Bonnie Bell Simmons, 91, of Escatawpa, died Saturday, April 12, 2008. Mrs.
Simmons was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Neshoba County, Miss. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Jim and Jenny Barton; husband, Edward (Bunt) Simmons;
sisters, Lois Smith, Mavis Barton, Ina Burns, Wildra Fowler; and brothers,
Demas, Chester and Johnny Barton. Graveside services: Harmony Baptist Church,
Kosciusko, Miss. 

James Harold Swann, 90, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Grand Bay, Ala. He was
a resident of Moss Point, MS, and was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Silas, Ala. Mr.
Swann was a WWII Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Sydney E. and Emma Swann; his wife of 67 years, Helen Louise Swann; three
sisters, Anna Dale Swann, Jean Bennett and Edith Pope. Funeral services: First
Baptist Church, Moss Point, MS. Burial: Griffin Cemetery with military honors. 
Prentiss F. Ward Jr., 81, of Helena, Miss., died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at
his home. He was born June 13, 1926, in Neshoba, County, Miss. Mr. Ward was
preceded in death by his parents, Prentiss F. and Minnie Lee Ward Sr.; his wife,
Audrey Ward; one daughter, Brenda Rutland; four great-grandchildren, Brittney,
Hailey and Hunter Perry and Bailey Nichole Watkins. Burial: Serene Memorial
Gardens, Escatawpa, Miss.

Mrs. Elaine Laverne Burroughs Hale, 63, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, in Mobile,
Ala. Born on Aug. 4, 1944, in Pascagoula, Miss., Elaine was a lifetime resident
of Jackson County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie
Burroughs; and brother, Oliver Burroughs. A private inurnment will follow at a
later date in The Good Shepherd Mausoleum of Serene Memorial Gardens.  

Taylor L. Sherman, age 45, of Ocean Springs, died on April 13, 2008 in Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Reva Holcomb and Joseph
and Henrietta Sherman.

Edwin James Himel, age 86, of Ocean Springs passed away on April 14, 2008 in
Ocean Springs. Husband of Jean Brand Himel. Son of the late Vance Bruffy Himel
and Lucille Joubert Himel. Grandson of the late Julia Boudreaux Himel of
Labadieville, LA. Brother of David D. Himel. Mr. Himel was a native of New
Orleans and a resident of Ocean Springs, MS since 1991.Graveside service: in the
Garden of Memories Courtyard Mausoleum, 4800 Airline Highway, Metairie, Louisiana. 

Mary Dorothy Coleman Speed, 80, of Moss Point, Miss., passed away Monday, April
14, 2008. Mrs. Speed was born in Sanford, Miss., Aug. 27, 1927. Mrs. Speed was
preceded in death by her husband, Albert Speed, and her parents, Joe and
Elizabeth Coleman. Interment: Griffin Cemetery, Moss Point

Billy Ray Belcher, 76, of Escatawpa, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. He was
born March 31, 1932, in Stonewall, Miss. He was a resident of Escatawpa for 41
years. He was previous owner of Belcher's Grocery for 18 years. He was preceded
in death by his loving parents, Floyd and Winnie Elizabeth Belcher, and sister,
Ivey (Ernest). Interment: Serene Memorial Gardens. 
Edward J. Campbell, 78, of Ocean Springs, died April 15, 2008. Graveside
services: Evergreen Cemetery.

Versie Ann Josey, 68, of Wade, Miss., passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in
Pascagoula, MS. Versie was born July 25. 1939, in Jackson County and resided in
Wade, Miss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Choyce Holland,
and her grandparents, Will and Ellen Holland and Steve and Florence Cumbest.
Burial: Caswell Springs Cemetery.

Ms. Tracee Yvette Hoye, 36, was born March 20, 1972, in Pascagoula, MS, died
April 15, 2008, at Singing River Hospital. She was preceded in death by her
mother, Jimmye Nell Hoye; sister, Pamela R. Hoye-Gildersleeve; maternal
grandparents, Mach and Annie Lou Kimble; paternal grandparents, R.G. and Mary
Lee Hoye; and five aunts. Interment will be in Gabriel Cemetery, Pascagoula.

Mr. Wallace E. "Wally" Page, age 74, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Tuesday, April
15, 2008. He was a resident of Ocean Springs since 1971. He was a retired Chief
Master Sergeant, retiring after 20 years of service with the U.S. Air Force.
After serving our country for twenty years. Mr. Page was preceded in death by
his mother, Earline Hunter and stepfather, Jake T. Hunter, grandson, Richard 

Joseph "Joey" Chinn, Jr., great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Reese Page, sister,
Claudine Page and brothers, Louie D. Page, Louie V. Page and Leathean Page.
Burial: Biloxi National Cemetery.

Paul Ezra Rice, age 79, of Escatawpa, Miss., passed away April 15, 2008, in
Pascagoula, Miss. Mr. Rice was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Sparta, Tenn. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Nancy Steele Rice, and a grandson,
Michael Paul Rice. Funeral service in the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Betty Woodland, born Jan. 5, 1938, in Wesson, Miss., to the late Clara Bell
Butler and Jessie Bell. Died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at her residence in Moss
Point, Miss. Mrs. Woodland was preceded in death by a son, James E. Woodland;
and a grandson, Quincy Woodland. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery,
Pascagoula, Miss.

Infant Allison Faye Prassenos, 4 months, passed away April 16, 2008, in
Lucedale, MS. She is preceded in death by her brother, William Job Prassenos.
The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Helena, MS.
Burial: Serene Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Moss Point, MS.

Mrs. Fannie Lott Havens, 86, of Biloxi, Miss., died Thursday, April 17, 2008, in
Ocean Springs, Miss. Mrs. Havens was a native of Stone County. She was preceded
in death by her husband, the Rev. Lyman Eugene Havens Jr., former pastor of
Epworth, Cedar Lake United Methodist Church. Interment: George Byrd Cemetery,
Vancleave, Miss. 

Patricia Kosman, 75, formerly of Pascagoula, Jackson County, MS, passed away
Thursday, April 17, 2008 in Richardson, TX. Patricia was born July 28, 1932 in
Laurel, MS to the late Horace and Verda Conn. She was a member of Eastlawn
United Methodist Church in Pascagoula. In addition to her parents she was
preceded in death by her husband John R. Kosman. Graveside Services: Jackson
County Memorial Park, Pascagoula, Ms.

Theodore E. Savage, 69, of Ocean Springs, Miss., passed away Thursday, April 17,
2008, in Leakesville, Miss. Mr. Savage was born June 13, 1938, in Pascagoula, to
the late Augusta and Lucy Savage. He was a longtime resident of Pascagoula. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James A.
Savage; a sister, Frances C. Rice; a nephew, Edward Rice Jr., and a
brother-in-law, Wilburn W. Powe. Interment: Cronier Cemetery. 

Jack E. Schnoor, age 81, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away on Thursday, April
17, 2008. He was born July 24, 1926 in Easton, Pa. He retired from the U.S. Army
as a lieutenant colonel after 29 years of distinguished service. He was preceded
in death by his first wife, June Rita Schnoor. Following the funeral service,
the cemetery service will be private for the family.

Mr. Roger and Mrs. Hiroko Been, of Grand Bay, Mobile County, AL, both passed
away on Friday, April 18, 2008 in a car accident in Jackson County, MS. Roger
and Hiroko were married on April 11, 1953, in Tokyo, Japan. During their 54
years of marriage, they lived in numerous places before finally retiring to
Grand Bay, Ala. Roger, or "Chief" as he was affectionately called, 78 years old
and a native of Fort Smith, Ark., served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years. Hiroko,
or "Hiro-chan" as called by Roger, 72 years old and a native of Mito, Japan.
Roger and Hiroko were preceded in death by their daughter, Mary Woods, and her
son, Jacob Gibson. Interment: Crestlawn Memorial Park, Ocean Springs, MS, with
full military honors. 

Apr. 19
Mr. A. J. Adams (Uncle A. J.) , 80, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008. Mr.
Adams, a World War II veteran, was born in Yazoo City, Miss., in 1927 to Andrew
Jackson Adams and Addie Frasier Adams. He is preceded in death by his wife,
Betty Sligh Adams; his parents; one brother, Thomas Clarence Adams; and one
sister, Regina Hunt. Interment: Machpelah Cemetery.

Mary Pauline Nicholson Edwards Vice, 78, of Richton, Miss., passed away at a
local hospital on April 19, 2008. Mrs. Vice was born on July 28, 1929, to the
late Rupert and Flossie Nicholson. A resident of Hurley, Jackson County, MS, she
is the retired 25-year owner of Robert's Grocery. She was preceded in death by
her first husband, the late Gaines M. Edwards; a second husband, the late 
Robert A. Vice; a brother, J. D. (Fay) Nicholson; and two sisters, Eloise (Lee)
Vice and Aileen (C. M.) Skipper. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial
Gardens with William Rainwater, Keith Waite, Brad Latham, Thomas J. Nicholson,
J.J. Nicholson, Ray Nicholson, Blaine Davis and Billy Ray Vice serving as
pallbearers.

Myrtle Emerson (Parker) Carter, 73 of Big Point, Jackson County, MS, passed away
April 20, 2008 in Mobile, AL. She was born August 31, 1934 in George County, MS.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ivey Emerson and Isabell (Bell) Parker
Emerson; grandparents Willey Parker and Martha (McInnis) Parker of Agricola, MS
who raised her from birth; her twin sister Margaret Emerson (Parker) Baxter.
Also, an uncle Mack Parker of Kingsville, TX; an aunt Myrtle Emerson of
Harleston, MS who lived with her for several years. She is survived by her
husband William Manuel Carter. Funeral services: Big Point United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Flossie Webb, age 92, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Sunday, April 20,
2008 in Ocean Springs. Flossie was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson
County. Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Webb and son,
Ronald Webb. Burial: Ryan Cemetery, Biloxi.

Alice "Faye" Grubbs, 74, of Moss Point, MS, died on Monday, April 21, 2008,
after battling heart failure and cancer. She spent the last four years at Carlow
Manor in Gulfport, Miss. Faye was born to Eunice and Oscar Burge in Picayune,
Miss., on April 1, 1934.She had two brothers and one sister, Earline,Devant and
Oyt Burge. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Dalton Grubbs, in
Pascagoula, Miss. Interment: Biloxi National Cemetery.

Apr. 22
James Jefferson (Jimmy) Davis Jr., born Mar. 25, 1939, died April 22, 2008. Son
of James Jefferson Davis Sr. and Gladys Davis Watkins of Wade, Jackson County,
MS. Jimmy grew up in Wade. He retired after 23 years as a Mississippi State
Highway Patrolman. He served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death
by his brother, Owen Davis of Wade, and his sisters, Virginia Burges of San
Antonio, Texas, Irene Parker of Pascagoula, and Marie Davis Nolan of Coco, Fla.
Interment with full honor guard provided by the Mississippi Highway Patrol will
follow in Johnson Cemetery.

Daisy Dean Green, 85, of Pascagoula, passed away April 22, 2008 in Latimer, MS.
Daisy, the youngest of eight children, was born April 29, 1922 to the late
Joseph David and Lucinda Katherine Pounds. She was a lifelong resident of
Jackson County, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years; Lacy
Edward Green, her son Tracy Edward Green, her parents; Joseph and Lucinda
Pounds, her sisters; Clara Ware, Ruth Koval, Agnes Barrow, and Gladys Purdy, and
her brothers; James and David Pounds. Burial: Jackson County Memorial Gardens
Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS.

Mrs. Adele H. Flechas, age 94, of Pascagoula, Miss., died  April 23, 2008, at
her residence. Born Sept. 30, 1913, in Camden, Ala., to the late Braxton B. and
Ellie B. Tate. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She
met and married the love of her life, Miguel M. Flechas Jr. on May 11, 1936,
that lasted over 70 years until his death on Sept. 22, 2006. She was also
preceded in death by two brothers, Braxton Hobdy and Jim Tom Hobdy. Interment:
Krebs Cemetery, Pascagoula. 

June Bradfield Newton, 85, of Gautier, MS passed away at her home Wednesday
April 23, 2008. She was born in Stone Mountain, GA on February 9, 1923. She was
preceded in death by her parents George Bradfield and Lucille Long; sisters
Patricia Gibson and Dorothy Cofer; one brother Louie Bradfield; husband of fifty
seven years Ben Newton, Sr.; four sons Phillip Newton, Bobby Newton, Billy
"Pete" Newton and Ben Newton, Jr.; one daughter Patsy Stokes; two grandsons Ben
Newton III and Gary H. Smith, Jr.She is survived by five daughters; one sister;
twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren. Burial: Pinecrest
Cemetery, Gautier, MS.

Infant Pablito Raider Campos-Racz, 23 days old, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died
Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Birmingham, AL.

Mrs. Betty C. Wright, 66, of Pascagoula, MS passed away April 23, 2008 in
Pascagoula, MS. She was born August 5, 1941 of Kenedy, TX.  Mrs. Wright was
preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Maurine Carver; and a brother Lloyd
Carver III. Burial: Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS.

Mr. James Herbert Duvall, 72, of Moss Point, Miss., died Thursday morning, April
24, 2008, at his residence. Born on July 15, 1935, in Oconee County, S.C. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Minnie Duvall. James lived in the
area since 1981. A marine journeyman welder by trade, he enjoyed trout fishing
in his home state of South Carolina. He was an avid college football fan, and
loved to grow tomatoes. After his retirement, James furnished boiled peanuts to
area stores and high school football games, as well as delivering produce.

Mary Graves, 86, of Moss Point, Miss., died in Pascagoula, Miss., on April 25,
2008. Memorial service: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3702 Quinn Drive,

Mr. James "Pookie" Mitchell, Jr., born March 5, 1945, to Mr. James Mitchell Sr.
and Mrs. Alma Stallworth Mitchell. He passed away April 25, 2008. He was the
youngest of four children. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. James
Mitchell Sr., and Mother, Alam Stallworth Mitchell and two sons, David Arnell
Mitchell and Fletcher Barnell Mitchell; brother, Fletcher Mitchell and sister,
Alberta M. Carwell. Interment: Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula

Mrs. Helen Lee Wright Robinson, died On Friday, April 25, 2008 at her home. She
was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Laurel, Miss. Helen was preceded in death by three
children, twins Ronald and Donald, and Brenda; father, Johnny Gavin; mother,
Theresa DeLoach; and husband, Fred Robinson Jr. She had been a longtime resident
of Moss Point, Miss., since 1949. She was a former kindergarten teacher in the
community for many years, and later in 1969, Fred and Helen became owners of
Robinson's Friendly Funeral Home. There will be a viewing held on Thursday, May
1, 2008, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Robinson's Friendly Funeral Home. Funeral Services:
St. Paul United Methodist Church in Moss Point, with Rev. Robert Pittman
officiating.

Mr. Joseph "Peppe" Milazzo, 70, of Vancleave, MS passed away Saturday morning,
April 26, 2008 after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on May 7, 1937 in
Pittston, PA to the late Faust and Anna Milazzo, Joe lived in Mississippi for 31
years, the last 18 years in Vancleave. Joe served in the United States Army
during the Korean conflict.

Mrs. Joann Jumonville Nichols, age 82, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Sunday, April
27, 2008, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Nichols was born and raised in Biloxi. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Malsby Jumonville and Rosalie Davis Baria.
Burial: Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Lee C. Anderson Sr., 100, of Lucedale, Miss., passed away on Tuesday, April 28,
2008, at George County Regional Hospital. Lee was a native of Lucedale, and a
resident of the Barton Community. He was a member of Basin Temple C.O.G.I.C.,
where he served as a minister for 53 years. He was preceded in death by his
parents, William Mansfield Anderson and Easter Ann Lawrence Anderson; two
daughters, Rose and Rosetta; six sisters, Albertine, Georgia, Amanda, Nattie,
Elouise, Laura, and Olivia, and eight brothers, Collie, Colia, Marvin, Starling,
Leon, Namon, Ebenezer, and Freeman. Interment: Old Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. 

Bruce Lawrence Agnelly, of Ocean Springs passed away peacefully surrounded by
family on April 28th, 2008 three months shy of his 80th birthday. Born and
raised in New Orleans and did not move to the coast until 1969. He received
these awards and obtained several honors from the Scottish Rite he was most
proud of his work with the organization that he helped found in 1988. At Bruce's
request there will be no formal funeral services. Anyone wishing a moment of
remembrance is invited to join the family at the pavilion that Bruce helped
build in the Ocean Springs harbor.

Ola Mae Cowart Danis, 90 of Pascagoula, died Mon., April 28, 2008 in Pascagoula.

Mr. Michael Alan "Mike" Gollott, age 57, of Vancleave, MS, died Monday, April
28, 2008, in Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph
Elmer Gollott, Jr., and grandparents, Joseph and Dola Gollott, Sr. and Floyd and
Leona Freeman. Burial: Crestlawn Memorial Park, Ocean Springs.

April 29, 2008, in Pascagoula, Miss. Mr. Shaffer was born May 17, 1921, in
Kittanning, Penn. He had served in the U.S Army during WWII. He was preceded in
death by his father and mother, George and Blanche Shaffer Sr. Interment:
Crestlawn Memorial Park, Ocean Springs.
