Dec. 1
Robert Ray Hamilton, 88, of Gulfport, MS died December 1, 2008, in Gulfport. 
Born in the Wade community, Jackson County, MS on November 6, 1920, Bob 
Hamilton loved to tell how he lived his early childhood hunting and fishing 
deep inside the Pascagoula swamp and how he spent many a night camping with 
his friends and cousins 'floundering' on the islands and bayous. For years he 
was a constant fisherman on Bayou Bernard. When anyone inquired as to where 
the fish might be biting, they were directed to go down to where Bob Hamilton 
is anchored, get as close as you can to him, then load the boat. Mr. Hamilton 
was a veteran of World War II, serving as a seaman in the U S NAVY in Miami, 
Florida, where he was discharged at the end of hostilities. From there he took 
his young family back to the Pascagoula, MS, area and lived and worked for the 
Navy as a civilian, switching residence to Gulfport, Mississippi in 1959. He 
continued his employment at the Naval Construction Battalion Center at 
Gulfport, until his retirement in December, 1975. Mr. Robert R. Hamilton was 
preceded in death by his mother, Callie Goff Rushing of Pascagoula, Ms; his 
son, Robert Cooper Hamilton; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hamilton Embry; and an 
infant daughter, Angela Louise Hamilton. His wife of sixty-three years, Alice 
Elaine Flynt Hamilton. Burial: Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula. 

Ms. Norma Ruth Howell, 68, of Deatsville, AL, formerly of Moss Point, MS, died 
December 1, 2008 in Montgomery, AL. She was born July 5, 1940 in Phillip, MS 
to Rev. and Mrs. A.E. Howell. Service: Serene Memorial Gardens of Escatawpa, 
MS.

Dec. 2
Lester H. Fayard, 80, of Vancleave, MS died December 2, 2008. He was born 
November 9, 1928 in Success, MS. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. 
Eugene Fayard and Lena McQueen Fayard, a brother Kenneth Fayard, a sister 
Verlena Fayard Wescovich and special nephew Kenny Fayard. Lester was past 
president of Jackson/George County Cattleman's Association, and for many years 
he was active chairman of Livestock Barn for Jackson County Fair Association. 
He was also a veteran of World War II, and a member of Carpenter's local 
union. Interment: Vancleave Cemetery #1 on Jim Ramsay Road. Honorary 
pallbearers will be his grandsons.

John Ira Rouse, age 74, of Moss Point, MS diedDecember 2, 2008 in 
Pascagoula. "J.I." was born on July 7, 1934 in Pascagoula, to the late Lee and 
Lilly Rouse. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. Services will 
be private as requested by "J.I."

Mr. James Ray Ivey, Sr., 72, of Hurley, MS died December 2, 2008 in Hurley. He 
was born February 6, 1936 in Quitman, MS. Mr. Ivey was a member of U.S. 
National Guard, the Country Gentleman Band and the Chief of the Hurley 
Volunteer Fire Department from 1970 to 1982. Mr. Ivey is reunited with his 
wife of 22 years Mildred Ivey; son James Ivey, Jr.; father Christo Ivey; and 
brother Charles Ivey. Burial: Coleman Cemetery, Hurley.

Mrs. Joyce Ann King, 59 of Ocean Springs, MS died December 2, 2008, born in 
Omaha, Nebraska on May 23, 1949, moved to the coast in 1957. She was preceded 
in death by her husband Wayne King, and her father, Oscar Thomas. Burial: 
Seymour Cemetery, St. Martin, MS.

Dec 3 
Ms. Naomi Noble, age 93, a native of Ocean Springs, MS died December 3, 2008, 
at her home in Ocean Springs. She owned Avelez Beauty Shop in Biloxi until she 
retired in 1986. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Jane 
Davis Noble, a sister, Eunice (Nealy) Seymour, and a brother, Chester (Evelyn) 
Noble. Burial: Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Fort Bayou Community.

Ted Williams Ruffin, Jr., 49, of River Ridge, LA, died December 3, 2008, in a 
New Orleans Hospital. Service with Rev. Wayne Myers, Pastor of Ramsay Hills 
Baptist Church, officiating. Interment: Vancleave Cemetery #1, Vancleave, MS.

Mr. Edward Shamont Kelly, Sr., a life long resident of Moss Point, MS, was 
born February 5, 1981 in Waynesboro, MS. He is preceded in death by his 
grandmother, Mrs. Linda Faye Kelly and Uncle Jimmy O'Neal Kelly. Interment: 
Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS.

Ted Williams Ruffin, Jr., 49, of River Ridge, LA, died December 3, 2008, in a 
New Orleans, LA Hospital. Interment: Vancleave Cemetery #1.

Mr. Tommy Lee Brown of Moss Point died December 4, 2008. 
 
Robert Lee Tucker Jr. age 66, of Moss Point, MS died December 4, 2008. He was 
born March 12, 1942 in Safford, AL to the late James and Eva Henderson. 
Services will be private.

Dec. 5
Thomas I. Jones, 83, was born January 15, 1925 in Gautier, MS to the late 
Thomas Jones and Edna McPherson Jones, died on December 5, 2008. He was a 
World War II Veteran, U.S. Army. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late 
Katie Jackson Jones on March 26, 1946 where they enjoyed a beautiful life 
together for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving 
wife, sisters, Jeanette White and Emma Bilbo; two brothers, Cornelius Allen 
and James Allen. Burial: Franklin Cemetery, Gautier, MS. 

Mr. James Randolph 'Snook' Norvell, Sr. was born November 14, 1914, in 
Scranton, MS, later named Pascagoula, MS. He departed his life Thursday, 
December 5, 2008 at VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System in Biloxi, MS. 
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Caroline Norvell, wife 
Molinda Norvell, one granddaughter Vanetta Norvell, one daughter-in-law 
Jeanette Norvell, and 12 sisters and brothers. Burial: Jackson County Memorial 
Cem. Pascagoula, MS.
 
Dec. 6
Mrs. Mimi Pauline Cayson, 84 of Gautier, died on Dec. 06, 2008 in Gautier.

Henry Newton Glass, III, 35, of Cedar Park, TX, died 12-6-2008, in Ocean 
Springs. He was sent from the F.H., Gulfport, MS, to Cook Walden F.H. in TX.

Larry L. Seymour, 83, a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, MS died December 
6, 2008. He is preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Exia Blackwell 
Seymour; parents Leon and Ada Seymour; eight brothers, one sister, one twin 
sister and two great-grandchildren. Burial: Seymour Cemetery.

Dec. 7
Ellis E. Evans, 73, of Moss Point died December 7, 2008, in Moss Point.

James Howard McIntosh, born October 8, 1937 - died December 7, 2008 in 
Pascagoula, MS. Private Services: Biloxi National Cemetery.

Gary "Vino" Owen, age 68, of Pascagoula, MS died December 7, 2008. He was born 
October 29, 1940 in Lansing, Michigan. He moved to Pascagoula from Michigan 35 
years ago. There will a graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery with 
full military honors.

Dec. 8
Mrs. Bobbie Broadus Bonderer, age 73, of Pascagoula, Ms died Dec. 8, 2008 in 
Ridgeland, MS. She was born in Holmes County, MS. She was a member of Ingalls 
Avenue Baptist Church in Pascagoula. She is preceded in death by her husband 
of 33 yrs, T.G. Broadus and husband of 4 yrs, Joe Bonderer. Interment will be 
at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula, MS.

Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Lovell Nevels Fuller of Wade, MS died Dec. 8, 2008 at 
Singing River Hospital. Born March 12, 1942 to Mr. and Mrs. V.O. (Donna) 
Lovell of Brookhaven, MS, both deceased. She was preceded in death by two 
husbands Mr. Jerry Nevels and Mr. Warren Fuller. Burial: Rosehill Cemetery of 
Brookhaven, MS.

Mr. Hibbard V. Lett, 64, of Moss Point, MS. died Dec. 8, 2008. 

Dec. 9
Mrs. Mae Deloris Crawford, age 64, of Helena, MS died December 9, 2008, 
following a valiant battle with cancer. Deloris was born on April 30, 1944, in 
Alabama, to the late John and Zula Mae Tee. In addition to her parents, she is 
preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Chesney and Jewel Tee; and grand-
daughter, Carrie D. Jones. She worked as a security guard at Chevron for a 
number of years, and was a lifelong resident of the area. Deloris is survived 
by her devoted husband of 36-years, James L. Crawford Jr.; five daughters, two 
sons; Twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nephew; other relatives 
and many friends. Interment: Serene Memorial Gardens Cemetery. 

Nellie Y. Price, 63, of Franklin Creek Community, MS died Dec. 9, 2008. She 
was born July 18, 1945 in Kosciusko, Ms and has been a resident of this area 
for most of her life. Mrs. Price was a member of Franklin Creek Baptist 
Church. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Kay Price; father, 
Troy Hutchison; brother-in-law, Bob Ray; nephew, Bobby Ray. Burial: Jackson 
County Memorial Park.

Irma Mae Koonce Wilson, age 69, of Ocean Springs died Dec. 9, 2008 in Ocean 
Springs. Services will be at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 803 
Division St., Biloxi. Burial: Biloxi City Cemetery.
 
Dec. 10
Mrs. Ina Belle Carter, age 86 of Wade, MS died December 10, 2008 in Mobile, 
AL. She was born November 26, 1922 in Stone County, MS. Mrs. Carter was a 
homemaker and member of Antioch Baptist Church of Leaksville. She was preceded 
in death by her parents, William C. and Cora B. Cox; husband, Roy C. Carter. 
Interment will be at Johnson Cemetery, Wade, Jackson County, MS.

Dec. 11
Lorraine Harper Watts Avent, age 75 of Moss Point died December 11, 2008 at 
her home. She was born March 7, 1933 in Biloxi. She was preceded in death by 
her parents J.L. and Willie Harper, husbands Philip W. Watts and J.C. Avent, 
son Philip Keith Watts, sisters Mary Elizabeth Wagner and Juliette Letts, 
brothers Pat Harper, and Everette Harper. Burial: Griffin cemetery in Moss 
Point.

William F. Vaughn, 73, of Ocean Springs, died 12-11-08. 

Linda Merle Goff Foster Webb, 65, of the Cumbest Bluff Community, MS died 
December 11, 2008 at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with 
cancer. Linda was born on November 15, 1943 in George County, MS to Coody and 
Maxine Goff. They came to Moss Point in 1944. Linda graduated from Moss Point 
High School in 1961. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father 
of her children Bobby G. Foster; her infant son Anthony Gil Foster; her father 
Rev. Coody Goff; a son-in-law Joe Steven Rankin; and special aunt Toddie 
Olsen. Burial: Shady Grove Church Cemetery in Lucedale, George County, MS.

Dec. 12
Mr. Aaron Nathaniel Keleher, age 19, of Biloxi, MS., died December 12, 2008, 
in Ocean Springs. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Bizer 
and Grace Carroll, Nathan and Edna Franklin and Daniel and Vivian Keleher and 
great-grandmother, Geraldine West. Burial: Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Dec: 13
Kaleb Christian Miller, 15, of Ocean Springs, MS died December 13, 2008.Kaleb 
was born on April 9, 1993 in Biloxi. Interment: Cruthirds Cemetery.

Mr. Wade Felix Runyon, a native of Stephenville, Texas and a resident of Ocean 
Springs, MS, died December 13, 2008, at the age of 51. The son of Ernestine 
Runyon and the late J. H. Runyon. He will be buried in Stephensville, Texas.

Mr. Thomas I. Jones, 83 of Gautier died Dec. 5, 2008 Service: New Era Baptist  
Church, Gautier. Burial: Franklin Cemetery, Gautier, MS.

Wade Felix Runyon, 51, Ocean Springs, died 12/13/2008.

Dec. 14
Mr. Conath Ray Collums, age 87 of Pascagoula, MS died December 14, 2008 at his 
home. He was born January 6, 1921 in Beland, MS. He was a member of Church on 
the Rock. Mr. Collums was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during WWII. Mr. 
Collums was preceded in death by his parents, James Duell and Addie Claire 
Collums; sister, Dorothy Wood. Survivors include sons, daughter,  sisters, 10 
grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews other 
relatives and friends. Services with Rev. Rodger Bradley officiating. 
Interment: Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors at graveside.

Nelda Rose Holtzman 87 of Gautier, MS died December 14, 2008 in Pascagoula, 
MS. Nelda was preceded in death by her husband Frank Friedman, and her son 
Lance Holtzman. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Dempsey Owens, 71, of Moss Point died December 14, 2008.

Dorris Thompson Acord, of Vancleave, MS December 15, 2008 in Ocean Springs, 
MS. Dorris was born October 2, 1927 to the late Roy G. and Zonie Mae Thompson 
in Noxapater, MS. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 
husband Ellis Acord Sr. Burial: Jackson County Memorial Park.

Wesley “Allen” Hill, 46, of Pascagoula, MS died December 15, 2008 in 
Pascagoula, MS. Allen was born February 3,1962  in Hattiesburg, MS. He was 
preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ezra and Winnie Bond; paternal 
grandfather J.B. Hill; uncle, Edward Bond; cousins, Adam and Scott Byrd and 
Robbie Bond; niece Kaitlyn Herrington; mother and father in law, Jerry and 
Joann Moyers.Burial: Crestlawn Memorial Park, Ocean Springs.

Alphones Jones, 68, of Gulfport, MS died December 15, 2008. Graveside 
services: Scranton Cemetery, Pascagoula MS.

Robert Allen Skelton, age 53 of Helena, MS died December 16, 2008 in 
Pascagoula, MS. He was born in Pascagoula, MS. Mr. Skelton was a member of 
Church on the Rock. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert Lee and 
Lacy Regan Skelton, Thomas Napoleon and Sina Elizabeth "Echols" Creekmore. 
Burial: Machpelah Cemetery.

Capt. David Leonard Willis, Jr. 73 of Pascagoula, MS died December 16, 2008. 
He was born June 27, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant, MS. Capt. Willis served in the U.S. 
Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul L. Willis and 
Jewel Phillips Willis. Burial: Jackson County Memorial Park,  Pascagoula.

Mr. Hayward W. "Ike" Eichelberger, age 74, of Ocean Springs, MS died December 
16, 2008, in Biloxi, MS. He was a Retired M/Sgt. from the US Air Force, a 
Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam War, and was a Quality Assurance inspector 
for NASA until his retirement. Burial: Biloxi National Cemetery.

Dec. 17
Charles Shelby Anderson, age 87, died December 17, 2008 at his daughters home 
in Big Point, MS., where he had resided since Hurricane Katrina. He was 
preceded in death by his parents, Charles Monroe Anderson and Addie Kennard 
Anderson, his wife of 61 years, Alice Louise Renfroe Anderson, a brother, 
Donald Anderson, two sisters, Irene Argulles and Annie Riley, and a grandson, 
Brandon Anderson. Burial: Machpelah Cemetery.

Thomas "Tommy" Gresham, 78, of Ocean Springs, died Dec. 17, 2008. Burial: 
Evergreen Cemetery, Ocean Springs.

Mr. Dempsey Owens, 71, of Moss Point died Dec. 17, 2008. Service: Union 
Baptist Ch., MP. Burial: Machpelah Cemetery.

Jewel Louise Rabby Frigo, age 82, passed away December 17, 2008 in Metairie, 
LA. Mrs. Frigo was born October 19, 1926 in Escatawpa, MS. She was preceded in 
death by her parents, Howard George Rabby and Sophia Suthoff Rabby, a son, 
Philip Edward Frigo, a grandson, Joshua Frigo, two brothers, Howard and Harold 
Rabby, and three sisters; Juanita Nelson, Mabel Hunt, and Agnes Pierce. 
Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery.

Dec. 18
Joan C. Allen, 74, of Ocean Springs died Dec. 18, 2008. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Kirby "K.V." Allen, her parents, Vernon and Rita Seymour 
Ladner and a brother, Wesley R. Ladner. Burial: Ryan Cemetery, St. Martin. 

James Scott Harrell, 42, of Gautier, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 in 
Gautier. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Aqwan Jackson, 7 months, of Gautier, MS passed on December 18, 2008 at his 
home. He was born May 17, 2008 in Pascagoula, MS. Interment will be in First 
Baptist Cemetery, Escatawpa, MS.

Mrs. Isabel McInnis Talbot, age 86 of Gulfport, MS passed away December 18, 
2008, in Gulfport. Mrs. Talbot was born in Moss Point, MS, she was a life time 
resident of the coast and she loved her gardening. She was preceded in death 
by her parents, Frank and Clara McInnis, and three sisters. Graveside services 
will be held at a later date at Griffin Cemetery, Moss Point, MS.

Rodney P. Boren, 55, of Ocean Springs, died Sat. 12-20-08. Memorial services 
at a later date.

Dec 21
Kenneth Lowrel Swarthout died December 21, 2008 in Ocean Springs. Mr. 
Swarthout was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 29, 1933. He was a Veteran of 
the United States Air Force, serving in Korea. A graduate of Mississippi 
College School of Law in 1960, a member of the Mississippi Bar and Michigan 
Bar law for 48 years. He was a member of the Jackson County Mounted Patrol, 
Belle Fountain Baptist Church and a friend of The Sons of The Confederacy. 
Burial: Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Dec. 22
Mr. Guy Floore, Jr., age 75, of Big Point, MS died December 22, 2008 at his 
home. He was born November 11, 1933 in Kemper County, MS. Guy was a member of 
Big Point United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from 
International Paper Company after 39 1/2 years service and was owner and 
operator of JR's Restaurant for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his 
parents, Anderson George and Grace Palmer Floore; brother, Robert Floore; 
sisters, Lottie Manns, Betty Nix and Mary Moore. Visitation: Big Point United 
Methodist Church. Burial: Big Point Cemetery. 

Henrietta Smith Noblitt, age 84, died December 22, 2008 in Ocean Springs, MS. 
She was born September 29, 1924 in Ashville, St. Claire County, Alabama to 
Henry Wilson Smith and wife, Eloise Montgomery Smith. She had been a resident 
of Pascagoula, MSfor the past 54 years. Mrs. Noblitt was preceded in death by 
her husband, Lloyd C. Noblitt, her parents, Henry and Eloise Smith; step-
father, Marion Boatwright and sister, Margie Smith (Frederick) Anderton. 
Visitation: Calvary Baptist Church, Pascagoula, MS. Funeral Service will 
follow immediately in the church sanctuary with Rev. Chris Carter officiating. 
Interment will be at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula, where she 
will be laid to rest beside her loving husband of 52 years, Lloyd Noblitt.

Myrtle Victoria Perkins Guillot - Age 88, of Moss Point, MS. Funeral 
arrangements incomplete by Heritage Funeral Home Escatawpa, MS.

Henrietta Smith Noblitt, age 84, of Pascagoula died Dec. 22, 2008.

Charles Onease Pace, 66, of Pascagoula, died December 22, 2008. A memorial 
service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Pam Frazer, age 50, of Vancleave, died Dec. 23, 2008, in Ocean Springs.

Dec. 24
Mrs. Jeannie Pearson "Jamie" Jones, 61, of Vancleave died December 23, 2008 in 
Pascagoula. She was born April 22, 1947 in Sylacauga, Al to Melvin and 
Glendora Pearson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pascagoula. 
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her first husband, Danny 
Overman; her father, Melvin Pearson; a brother-in-law, Tommy Pierce, and 
numerous other relatives. Burial: Machpelah Cemetery.

Mrs. Athastine Richardson Nathan was native of Moss Point, MS born to the 
parents of Charlie and Ernestine Richardson on July 15, 1955. She was preceded 
in death by both parents, Charlie and Ernestine Richardson; sister, Elizabeth 
Richardson; brother, Woodrow Richardson. Interment: First Baptist Cemetery, 
Escatawpa.

Edwin J. Schneider, age 88, a resident of Ocean Springs, MS December 24, 2008, 
in Ocean Springs. Private services will be held at a later date.

Ms Annie Lee Wynne, 80, of Moss Point, MS died December 24, 2008 in Bryant, 
Arkansas. She was born October 22, 1928 in Moss Point, MS and has been a 
lifelong resident of the Kreole Community and a member of Eastside Assembly of 
God Church. Her great contribution to the world was her 14 children and 57 
grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents 
Lyda & Ceolia Taylor, Her husbands Luis Alpizar Sr, Wade Maples & Willie 
Wynne, 2 brothers Lloyd Henry Taylor & Louis Edward Taylor, daughter Norma 
Jean Jordan grandchildren Raquel Maples, Anthony Gibson & Marcus (Brad) 
Hester. She is survived by 13 children, Interment will be at Orange Grove 
Cemetery. Pallbearers willbe her six Grandsons & Great Grandsons.

Sammye Jean Bodden, 79, of Gautier, MS died December 26, 2008 in Pascagoula, 
MS. She was born March 10, 1929 in Delta City, MS. Ms. Bodden is reunited with 
her parents George and Isabel Boykin; daughter Carla Catherine Bodden and her 
brothers and sisters Albert D. Boykin, Midge S. Rode, Nell Barlow, Bobbie 
Lockridge, Doza Russum, Lois E. Hunter and Loryce Hathcock. Memorial service 
in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home.

Helen Matthews, 95, of Pascagoula died Dec. 26, 2008.

Jeffery C. Hutchinson Jr., 45 of Moss Point, MS passed away 12-27-08 in 
Pascagoula, MS.

Dec 28
Ms. Jalanda Lanell Burchfield, 40, of Moss Point, MS died Dec. 28, 2008 in 
Pascagoula, MS. She was born in Drew, MS. Ms. Burchfield was preceded in death 
by her son, Albert McMillian Jr.; her father, Richard Burchfield Jr., and her 
granddaughter, Moeshia Burchfield. Interment: Scranton Cemetery, Pascagoula.

E. J. Garrison, age 79, of Decatur, MS and formerly of Pascagoula died Dec.

Roland Davis Goff, 65, of Gautier, MS died Dec. 28, 2008 in Kentucky. Mr. Goff 
was born January 14, 1943 in Louisville, KY to the late Otha B. and Lola B. 
Goff. He was also preceded in death by two brothers; O.J. “Peewee”  Goff and 
Sherrll Goff. No burial place listed.
