He graduated from Kosciusko High School in 1953, where he played on the football team. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked in early years in law enforcement in Kosciusko. He was preceded in death by his mother, Neva Wallace. Rushell Whittington, 80, of Summerdale, AL, formerly of Vancleave, MS. Mrs. Whittington was born on September 4, 1931 in Wesson, MS. Mr. Newell was born in Tarrytown, NY and had been a resident of Ocean Springs since 1979. He was a MSgt in the Air Force. Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Perkins Herring, of Pascagoula, MS, father, Percy W. Perkins, Sr., and stepfather, Dudley Herring. He was born in Kreole, MS and was a longtime resident of Big Point, MS. He served his country proudly with the United States Air Force working as a B-36 Bomber mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents Ellis and Ethel Howell and his brother Gerald Howell. In 1951 he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and proudly served for four years during the Korean Conflict. Richard Fippinger. She was President of the Gautier Friends of the Library for many years. She was also a member of the Jackson County Republican Women's Club and served on the City of Gautier's Historic Preservation Commission. She was recognized by the City of Gautier for her efforts in helping the community after Hurricane Katrina. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Gautier. Feb. 22 George Washington Fluker, Jr., 93, of Collins, MS, died February 22, 2012, in Collins. Mr. Fluker was born on May 2, 1918, in Livingston, LA. He lived in Pascagoula most of his life and attended Ocean Springs High School. He joined the US Marine Corp. He became an automatic rifleman who trained and fought on Guadalcanal and was wounded on Okinawa. He was living at the State Veterans Administration Home in Collins until his death. Biloxi National Cemetery Janet Ramstad, 79, born December 14, 1932 in Flushing New York passed away February 11, 2012. Daughter of the late Henry and Gladys Fippinger and sister to late H. Richard Fippinger. She was President of the Gautier Friends of the Library for many years. She was also a member of the Jackson County Republican Women's Club and served on the City of Gautier's Historic Preservation Commission. She was recognized by the City of Gautier for her efforts in helping the community after Hurricane Katrina. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Gautier. Feb. 12 Anthony Charles Bosarge, Jr., passed away February 12, 2012. He attended St. Martin High School and McClelland Road Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. Feb. 22 George Washington Fluker, Jr., 93, of Collins, MS, died February 22, 2012, in Collins. Mr. Fluker was born on May 2, 1918, in Livingston, LA. He lived in Pascagoula most of his life and attended Ocean Springs High School. He joined the US Marine Corp. He became an automatic rifleman who trained and fought on Guadalcanal and was wounded on Okinawa. He was living at the State Veterans Administration Home in Collins until his death. Mr. Fluker was preceded in death by his father, George Washington Fluker, mother, Georgia Pearl (Havens) Fluker and grandson, David Ford.
