Mr. Shultz was born on Aug. 21, 1923, in Alverda, Pa. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Shultz. Graveside service will be Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at 12.30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss., with Rev. Jerry Hamilton officiating with military rites being conducted by the American Legion Post #160 of Pascagoula. Mrs. Maggie Ruth Wells, 74, of Three Rivers, died Jan. 16, 2008. Jan 17 Mrs. Margie Westbrook Edwards, age 80, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Thursday, January 17, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce R. Preceding her in death were her parents, Tollie and Lou Goff; her husband of 55 years, M. L. Hamilton; one sister and brother, Francis Adkinson and Parnell Goff; a son-in-law, Harris Jones; and one grandson, Mike Hamilton. Burial will follow at the Hamilton Cemetery in Hurley. Harold L. "Yogi" Jones, 63, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 in Mobile, Ala. He was the son of the late Leeroy and the late Lessie (Tate) Jones; his brother, Floyd Jones, also preceded him in death. Interment will follow in Agricola Cemetery, Agricola. Reuben E. Ogborn, 59, of Colfax, La., died on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008. He was born on Feb. 21, 1942, to the union of Edward David Ogborn and Mattie Lee Horne Ogborn. He graduated from East Central High School and then upon retirement from the Army, he graduated from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and served as pastor of Hays Creek Baptist Church in Franklinton, La. He was called to serve his country again by providing security services in U.S. embassies in Jordan, Cambodia, Burma, Siberia, Pakistan, and France prior to being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2007. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Ogborn. Funeral services will be at Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, La. Jan 18 Mr. Bobbie Gene Mize, age 80, of Gautier, MS, died Friday, January 18, 2008. Bob was preceded in death by his two wives, Lola Presley Mize and Viola Tipton Mize, his parents, Curtis and Effie Mize, and siblings, Hazel, Rel, and Howard Mize, and three grandchildren, twins Samuel and Daniel Stampley and Daniel Mize. James Adam Salters, Jr., age 60, of Marquez, TX, formerly of Ocean Springs, passed away on January 19, 2008 in Houston, TX. He was born February 4, 1947 in Biloxi, MS to James Adam and Mary Virginia Salters, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Bertie Varnado; and brother, Richard Salters. Burial to follow at Bellande Cemetery in Ocean Springs, MS. Jan 20 Green Albert "Al" Chewning, 72, of Sylvester, Ga., passed away Jan. 20, 2008.. Funeral services were held Jan. 22, 2008. Followed by a service at the Old Cotton Hill Shiloh Cemetery in Clay County, Ga., with full military honors. Mr. Chewning was born in Cuthbert, Randolph County, Ga., on Nov. 21, 1935. Mr. Chewning was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Albert Chewning and Myrkle Lee Lofton Chewning; Mr. Chewning retired at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Miss., from the Air Force after 20 years of service and then retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Ga., after 20 years. Jonathan Wayne "Jonny" Gregory, 26, of Vancleave, Miss., passed away Jan. 20, 2008. "Jonny" was born Sept. 26, 1981, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Wayne Armstrong; his great-grandparents, I.V. and Almaree Gregory, and his uncle, Daniel Gregory. Burial will follow in the Orange Grove Cemetery. Burial will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa. Jan 22 Irma Pauline Hultz Grant, 95, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, in George County, Miss. She was born Feb. 5, 1912, in Gary, Ind. Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Della Scott Hultz; a son, Harold L. Grant Jr.; one sister and two brothers. Interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point. Kay Frances Woods Street born April 24, 1938, in Millport, Ala., and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, in Pascagoula, Miss. Graveside services will be at the Shiloh Cemetery in Vernon, Ala. Jan 23 Elden Lee Diehl, age 70, of Escatawpa and formerly of Clearwater, FL died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 in Biloxi VA Hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1937 in N. Lewisburg, Oh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Diehl; parents, Don and Pauline Diehl; brother, Ed Diehl. Graveside Service will be at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS with military honors. Morris R. Furby, 81, of Big Point, Miss., died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at his home. He was born March 24, 1926, in Jackson County, Miss. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ima Furby. A memorial service will be held at the Lilly Orchard Baptist Church. Jan 24 Mr. Thomas D. Harris, 80, of Ocean Springs, Miss., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008. He was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Harris McNeil; and brothers, Hudson Harris, Ben Harris, and Carl Harris. Mr. Harris was born in Pineville, Miss. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. Annie Mae Bosarge Willis, 81, of Helena, Miss., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008. Mrs. Willis was born in Pascagoula, Miss., on Dec. 4, 1926. Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her grandson Todd M. Willis, her parents Levert J. and Irene Helen Bosarge, her brothers Howard L. Bosarge, T. Bosarge, Levert J. Bosarge, Oliver Leo Bosarge her sister Irene Gentry, Beatrice Farrior. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memorial Park cemetery Jan 25 Ronnie Coleman Lee, age 64, of Gautier died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008. Ronnie owned and managed Industrial Electrical Services for 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry F. Lee and Inez D. Lee; sister, Vickey L. Moore. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors. Jessie Glenn McElhenney, 69, of Vancleave, Miss., passed away Jan. 25, 2008. He was born April 24, 1938, in Decatur, Miss. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Willie Mae McElhenney; son, Ronald Urbani; brothers, Mason, Billy, George and Harold McElhenney and sister, Margie McElhenney. Visitation will be at Bonnie Chapel United Methodist Church in Vancleave. Funeral services will be from the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Gerald Austin Price, 75 died Friday, January 25, 2008 .Mr. Price was born March 21, 1932 in Bogalusa, LA. He is a 1949 graduate of Pascagoula High School. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Price. Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery with military honors. Mrs. Verona Clarice Rinehart, 64, of Pascagoula, passed away Jan. 25, 2008, in Pascagoula. Mrs. Rinehart was born Feb. 6, 1943, in Jackson County, Miss. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Rinehart was preceded in death by her father and mother, Benjamine and Edith (Hamilton) Stork; four brothers, Harley, Elbert, Irvin (Babo), Jerry Stork; and one grandson, Logan Rinehart. Mrs. Wechsler was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Mary Bergman; her husband, John Wechsler; her brothers, Clarence Bergman and Jake Bergman. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula. Jan 26 Mrs. Lydia M. Baum, 76, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on January 26, 2008, in Gulfport. Jan 27 Mrs. Margaret "Odell" Fountain, 88, of D'Iberville, MS, died Sunday, January 27, 2008, in Pascagoula. Mrs. Fountain was born in Birmingham, AL and had been a longtime resident of D'Iberville. Mrs. Fountain was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Joseph "Sock" Fountain; father, Lowell Mason Robinson; mother, Eula Mae Robinson Dandridge; sons, Lowell Edgar Fountain and Gerard Anthony Fountain; brothers, Fred Robinson and Roy Robinson; and sisters, Opal Robinson, Hazel Williams, Ruby Cox and Thelma Fountain. Interment will follow in Fountain Cemetery in D'Iberville. Kathy Walker Hanning, 57, died on January 27, 2008 after a two-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). James was born on December 1, 1935, in Shelby, NC to the late Reverend Marvin and Marie Cook of Kings Mountain, NC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Reverend Carl Ray Cook of Kings Mountain, NC, a grandson, James E. Cook III of Hurley, MS., a grand-daughter, Josie Cook of Douglasville, GA. and a favorite cousin, Frank Simpson of Casar, NC. Graveside service at the Biloxi National Cemetery. Mr. Norman J. Gonsoulin, 73, of Ocean Springs, passed away January 28, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Neville and Jeanne Gonsoulin, and a sister, Rose Medlin. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. Cheryl Lynn Liedtke, 59, of Gautier, Miss., passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008. Cheryl was born Aug. 15, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Ruth and Ralph Liedtke. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Liedtke, and two grandchildren, Joshua Collins and Melanie Marie Haigler. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Gautier. Mary Corley Matthews, 68 of Vancleave, died Monday, January 28, 2008 in Ocean Springs. Mary was born in Pascagoula. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Matthews, parents, Richard and Mary Corley, three sisters, Earlene Corley, Jearlene Corley, Margaret Ray and a brother, Travis Corley. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Clyde D. Steelman, 87, of Vancleave, Miss., passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2008. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Steelman Sr.; her father, Clifton B. Davis and her mother, Nellie Davis of Vancleave. Burial will follow at Vancleave Cemetery No. 1. John Dwayne Whitehouse, age 47, of Ocean Springs passed away on January 28th. Mr. Whitehouse was born in Albuquerque, NM. Funeral service will be at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. Jan 29 Anthony Coludrovich, 65, of Pascagoula, Miss. died Jan. 29, 2008. Mr. Horace Patrick Gautier, 97, died January 29, 2008 at his home in Biloxi. Horace was born in Pascagoula. The Gautier family moved to Biloxi when he was a young boy. He was a 1931 graduate of Biloxi High School where he played football on Biloxi's Big Eight championship team. He also attended Louisiana Tech College on a football scholarship. While serving with the Mississippi National Guard, Horace was called to active duty during World War II. He attended Field Artillery Mechanics School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and graduated first in his class. He was assigned to the 109th Field Artillery Division Battalion where he attained the rank of Tech-Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery during the Battle of the Bulge. Horace and his partner Edgar Byrd owned and operated Gautier and Byrd Oil Wharf and boat dealership in Biloxi until their retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Mercee' Jane' Gautier, four brothers, five sisters and one great- granddaughter. Funeral service will be at The Episcopal Church of The Redeemer (DeMiller Hall). Interment will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery with Masonic graveside services. Helga Kimball, age 85, of Gautier, passed away on January 29, 2008. Helga was born in Germany and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1965. Mrs. Kimball was preceded in death by her son, Hardy Kimball. A graveside service will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Bessie Mae Rogers, 91, of Escatawpa, Miss., passed away Jan. 29, 2008. She was born March 27, 1916, in Vancleave, Miss. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Susan McMillan; husband, Barnett Rogers. Interment at Community of Christ Cemetery in Escatawpa. Jan 30 Julie Dickerson Budro, 80, of Moss Point, Miss., on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008. Mrs. Budro was born Jan. 17, 1928, to Webster and Dee Dickerson. She was a native and lifelong resident of Escatawpa, Miss. Mrs. Budro was preceded in death by her husband, Norman S. Budro; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Webster Dickerson; brother, Emmitt Dickerson; and sister, Annette Dickerson Miller Cherry. Burial will be in the Plenney Cemetery in Escatawpa, Miss. Lewis Franklin Matkins, 65, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Jan. 30, 2008. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janice (Baker) Matkins, and son, Matthew Kenneth Matkins. The date and time of a memorial service celebrating the life of Lewis, Janice and Kenneth will be announced at a later date. Jan 31 Sythel Beard Randle born Dec. 9, 1930, by Horace and Verna McInnis Beard of Leakesville, Miss. In August 1956, Sythel became the beloved wife of Allen K. Randle Jr. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Pascagoula until her health failed. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Allen; her parents, and a sister, Kathryn Miller, and a niece, Cindy. Interment will follow in the Stateline Cemetery, Stateline, Miss. Joe Clifford Turner, 63, of Hurley, MS., died Thurs. Jan. 31, 2008. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Maizie Roberts VanDevender, 85 passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 in Ocean Springs, MS. She was born July 16, 1922 in Vancleave, MS and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Woodrow Wilson VanDevender, Sr., her parents Mac and Mary Roberts, her step mother Mattie Shepherd Roberts, brothers, R..
