In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 11 siblings, her husband A. J. McKenzie; daughter, Doris Bennett; sons-in-law Billy Eanes and Wayne Bennett; 4 grandchildren, Sheila McLellan, Norman Bennett, Glenn Bennett, Johnny East; great-great grandchild, Amber Maddox and Floyd Mae Bennett. May 4 Charles Torrence, a resident of Moss Point, MS born May 5, 1931. passed away Thursday, May 4, 2012.He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. Macpelah Cemetery May 5 William Cain “Willie” Firth, 85, of Pascagoula, MS, passed away May 5, 2012 at Covington County Hospital in Collins, MS. He had been a resident of the U.S. Veterans Home in Collins since August 2011. Willie was born on March 12, 1927 in Pascagoula, the son of William Daniel and Effie Jane Cain Firth. He was a member of the Pascagoula High School graduating class of 1945. He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of seventeen and served on the USS Enterprise during World War II. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Stova Firth, and sisters Elma Firth Russell and Dorris Firth Watts. Private graveside service. Barbara Gene Tate Harness was born in Pike County, MS to the late Prentiss and Lizzie Tate. She entered into eternal rest on May 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mamie Magee and Jessie Johnson; three brothers, James, Wallace and Charlie Tate. She was born in Pascagoula on March 1, 1924 to John Edgar and Flora Perry Hester. She had lived in the Macedonia Community in Lee County for over forty-five years. She was preceded in death by her father, John Edgar Hester; her mother, Flora Perry Hester Conway; son, William D. Franks, Jr.; first husband, William D. Franks, Sr.; second husband, William Russell Holloman; brothers, John E. and Carl Hester; sisters, Sue Harris and Betty Broadus. Services will at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. She was born in Yazoo County on November 9, 1921. She and her her 8 siblings attended school, school in Hesterville, MS. She married her true love, William Desmond Nash, together they raised 5 children in Kosciusko and Pascagoula areas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mattie Belle Hood; brothers, Jack, Ted, Grady, Henry, and James; sisters Mary, Annie, and Mattie; grandson, Matthew Wayne Nash and a great grandchild, Marissa Ellington. Rodger Bradley officiating. May 18 n/a May 19 Mary Juanita Martin Bilbo, 96, passed away May 19, 2012 in Ocean Springs. She was born August 22, 1915 at Martin’s Bluff in Gautier. Juanita was raised on a farm with her parents and 12 siblings, in a time when horse and buggy were still a common mode of travel and work. She was a dedicated church worker at Belle Fountain Baptist Church, which was founded in 1890 by her father-in-law, Walter Ray Bilbo and his two brothers, for many decades. When Juanita married Bryan Bilbo on May 24, 1934, he was a muskrat trapper and had his own farm already established with a thousand laying hens. She helped him raise pecans, grow gardens, and raise chickens, cows, horses and sheep to shear for wool. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, James and Olive Martin; husband, William Bryan Bilbo; children, Betty Lou Bilbo Cox and William Larry Bilbo; and grandson, Stanford F. Browning. Belle Fountain Cemetery, Ocean Springs Georgia Joy McCulley, 82, of Moss Point passed away May 19, 2012. Ms. Joy was married to Meredith McCulley, who preceded her in death. They were married for 53 years. Ms. Joy was a faithful member of Helena Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Georgia Merritt. Mrs. Stewart was the oldest person, both in age and church membership, at New Horizon Ministries (formerly Evangel Temple). Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, William Riley Stewart, daughters, Laura Emma Stewart and Brenda Kay Parker, son David Lamar Stewart.
