CN Constance (Connie) Pendarvis Shafer, 70, of Boom Road, died Aug 6, 1968 (RI) in Westerly Hospital. She was widow of Neil D. Shafer, who died in April 1966. Connie was born April 28, 1898 in Wade, Jackson County, MS. She was a member of the Clark Falls Baptist Church, and a former member of the Poquomack Bridge Baptist Church, where she served in the Ladies Aid Society for many years. Surving are one son; three daughters. 22 grandchildren, and one great- grandchild. Preceding in death by: her parents Joseph James Pendarvis and Mary "Molly" Jones Pendarvis; three Brothers: Guy George Pendarvis, Joseph Pendarvis, Allen Pendarvis, and John W. Pendarvis; sister: Mrs. Clarisa (Loma) Thigpen. And two sons: (died when USSub Thresher went down off East Coast of Maine, USA.) Benjamin Nathan Shafer and John Shafer.
